Yeah, I can't fault doctors for leaving places where they'd get locked up or worse for being doctors. Sure, presumably some may stay, but that requires a level of heroism not everyone has.

Edit: Oh, none of this matters anymore, I can't be arsed. Results in so I'd just be navel-gazing to keep arguing about the third-party stuff.

We can expect mass deportations, medical access much further restricted for women and queer people, skyrocketing medical costs for the rest. Environmental protections shredded and the climate crisis worsening yet again. America has sent a clear message that it doesn't give a shit about its most vulnerable, that racism and violence are rewarded, and that the rule of law doesn't matter if you've got enough money. I'm gonna go live in the sea.

Fucking called it.

I don't think that Biden's that disliked, I think that Kamala is stretched thin over the spectrum between having to oppose Trump while distancing herself enough from Biden. She's doing double the fighting, which means she has to flip flop on a lot of issues that should be cut and dried for Democrats, as opposed to Trump's rampant bullshitting slowly winning over constituents. Kamala ends up answering for Biden's failures but doesn't get to tote any of his merits.

We had a similar set up last year in Argentina: in the midst of the worst inflationary crisis in the history of the country, the incumbent leftist stepped down from seeking reelection (much earlier than Biden did this year) and picked a champion from his own administration to face a boorish libertarian challenger. The leftist candidate was in a no-win situation of putting as much distance as possible from his own failed administration while promising policy continuity. He had the added challenge of being the then-current Minister of Economy in a country with 211% annual inflation rate (lol). The other dude won by 12 points.

Biden wasn't really "disliked", everyone just could see he was decaying in real time every time he tried to speak. Voting for him would be like voting for a puppet president.

I don't dispute that aspect. But that doesn't actually undo my original point of the onus being on the doctors now, instead of the legislators. Saying this policy is anti-doctor due to upping the selfless requirements is fair. Thing is I was responding to the claim that people wanted women to die instead of get abortions, and no, people just want the doctors to actually have valid justification an abortion is medically necessary. That doctors, out of an abundance of caution, end up killing women, is the doctor's fault.

After Republican money was brought up.
By you! You brought that up, don't use the passive voice. Tell the people that you only want to argue about what you want to argue about, don't pretend they're being silly for not getting their posts derailed.

Yes, I saw your edit before hitting post, but that one's silly enough to require response.

I expect none of this to happen, with the singular exception of likely restrictions on puberty blockers for gender dysphoria in children, but I guarantee that was coming either way.

And when it all doesn't happen, I expect you to never notice nor admit you were wrong.
The Right is awesome for people who are exactly like you. It is hell for people who aren't. And that's just how you want it, because you need people to be forced to be exactly like you.
In 2019, employment was up, real wages were up, housing costs relative to wages were down, violent crime was down, American participation in foreign wars was down, public unrest was almost non-existent. Sure sounds like hell to me...

Does it really matter?

That's fine, but who decides when an abortion is medically necessary.

The doctor at the time its needed or a panel of judges months after the procedure?

Laying the blame at the feet of doctors who refuse to abort a pregnancy, on fear of (at best) losing their jobs, and (at worst) going to prison, is just unfair.

If the law puts doctors in an impossible situation where they have to chose between treating their patient, or protecting themselves from prosecution, that is squarely the fault of the bullshit law, and not at all the fault of the doctor.

Doctors who go outside of the law to safely abort pregnancies are definitely selfless heroes, but that does not make doctors who refuse selfish cowards, it makes them victims.

That first debate with Biden and Trump solidfied for me that people already chose their vote. Trying to claim one was more senile than the other and acting like Biden was the most? I couldn't tell who was more decaying and as for senile it never entered the building.

Biden had some detractors and like Johnny said she had to oppose Trump and not be Biden 2.0 in a span of an exhilarated campaign trail.

My solace is my state stayed blue and keep my head on swivel.

To add to this, is often isn't even awesome for people like that, or at least only is for a time (or they stop being exactly like that, become disabled say).

Trump did 3 hours with Rogan and he sounded normal the entire time. Biden loses his words and forgets what he's saying half the time, and says weird random things that make no sense like "we beat medicare". Trump is just weird so when he says odd things they are a character flaw but Biden wasn't like that even just 8 years ago, he didn't have a history of incoherence.

"He just says odd things" that is really down playing the stuff that comes out of Trump and dismissing it as "weird". Don't do the weirdos like that .

People had their pick from the jump and will downplay so much. My own eyes and ears that first debate was incoherent marathon and people pick was already determined with no swaying involved.

"Not Donald Trump" may not cut it anymore.
Considering he won the popular vote, no, it certainly didn't.

The Democrates were under the very false perception that americans didn't want Trump, because look at he evil and racist he is, and all they had to do was keep pointing at how evil and racist he is, and how he packed the Supreme Court with psychos and took away reproductive rights. Even most actual leftist were saying this, how conservatives "caught the car". But jokes on all of them; americans actually want this shit.

People could probably stand to watch that conversation if all they've seen is 10 second sound bytes out of context.

Someday, maybe, you'll look back and figure out that wanting to stop killing babies and drugging children isn't some mass psychosis, and you picked the wrong side.

Like I said, enjoy the increase of infant deaths, women dying in labor, and teen suicides. God loves you for thinking they deserved it.
