There's gonna be A LOT of 'democrates let Trump win' and 'Kamala should've taken a stance against this and that', but in the end it's the people who voted for a giant racist asshole who tried to commit a coup. I'm done viewing people as if they're these dumb idiots who simply don't know what they're choosing. Everybody who voted for Trump knows what he is and what he's done, and they like it. Kamala is shit too and so is the entire Democratic party, but to act like they confused or scared people into voting for Trump is fucking stupid. America just really wants facism.
I'm guessing that Harris et al turned people away from the ballot boxes, rather than persuading them to vote GOP.

But, there's a lot of blame to go around. Hell, even if Harris won in a landslide, supporting genocide wasn't a good thing to do for other reasons.

I don't care who gets the blame.

The Americans as a whole have shown to be just shitty people and we will see at least 4 more years of plunging the world deeper and deeper into various crisis.

People knew exactly who they voted for. He was already four years in the office and is convicted of various crimes. And he was never subtle about what he wants. That it even got close should have been unthinkable. But i guess today's Americans like fascists more than 1930s Germans did ( where they never got that strong a win ).

Ah the coin has landed.

On the wrong side sadly enough. And while there's enough to say about this we all know for months this could have happened. I hope everyone prepared for that mentally. And I sure hope the governments of the west prepared practically.

From what I hear the turnout was actually pretty large this time around. And he won the popular vote too, which is unusual for republican victories.

I think people just forgot that Kamala was a loser who got like 1% of the vote during the primaries in 2020, someone who was only ever picked as VP due to Biden promising to select a black female VP to Clybern so he would get the nomination away from Bernie in 2020. The chickens have come home to roost. It was an ultimately failed gambit that merely delayed Trump's second win by 4 years. But now we have the benefit of Bernie being too old to run in 2028. So yeah, democrats deserve all the ire on display and then some.

A lot of them do, but plenty just have almost no idea about politic. All they know is "things cost more than they did 4 years ago, so I'm gonna vote against whoever was in the white house", with zero idea who they are and what their platform are. Never bet against the american public stupidity.

Can we finally admit that everyone who voted red wasn't fooled into voting against their own self-interest....
Oh my god, they're finally learning that the right is actually good for people!
....but that their interest was just facism? That a majority of americans just want facism?
Nevermind, hasn't learned a thing.

There wasn't anything to learn. We already knew conservatives wanted thousands of women to die due to complications during pregnancy and to force them to give birth to their rapists babies.

Congrats on the big win there.

That is actually in large part because doctors put their careers and fear risking prosecution more than they care about the lives of women. Your issue is with selfish doctors. And hell, there's actually a civil remedy to this. If you simply sue doctors for malpractice/wrongful death/negligent homicide then the fear of being prosecuted for giving an illegal abortion will cancel out with the fear of letting a woman die when she could have been saved and going to jail so they will start giving more abortions when medically necessary again.

...are you even reading my post before you respond? I said nothing about Republicans and them funding the Greens.
Did you not call it "circumstantial evidence that the Democrats are trying to do a lil bit of election fraud"? You said that in response to a post that didn't mention anything else, so it was difficult to interpret another way.

You then said "This is almost certainly the work of The Democratic Party because there's no need or desire for Republicans to do this." Considering this was all solely in response to the idea R's were funding Greens, that's what I took "this" to mean.

He was already four years in the office and is convicted of various crimes.
Which is why we can basically assume his first act as POTUS will be to order the DOJ and FBI to cease all investigations and prosecutions of Trump or any of his co-conspirators and destroy all related evidence and records. Don't want to risk actual consequences if he doesn't die in office, after all.

So damned if they do, damned if they don't?

Yeah if you're going to risk jail anyways might as well help the woman.

Sure but it's not as if it just came to me this moment. It's been a common talking point a while now that doctors are worried about legal liability and letting women die. And people are mysteriously ok with that, when the doctors took an oath to do no harm, and neglecting your patient is an act of harming them. This is only an issue because these doctors are traitors to their oath and putting themselves before other people.

first of all, stop repeating that misleading/inaccurate talking point for the reasons I indicated earlier.

second: in what universe? this is the post:

I mean, they're constantly suing to keep Green off the ballot. Anyone who claims Democrats as "The Party of Democracy" is just lying to themselves because nothing says Democracy like "You're only allowed to vote for us"...

Though I suppose we don't know 100% who did this but Republicans have never cared about The Green Party so I don't see why they would have been the ones to do this...

Or how about looking for another job altogether. Or another country. Have fun without any doctors.
I'm sure some who are unfit to keep their hypocratic oath in the face of actual risk will quit or move or something, sure, but I wouldn't want to be treated by someone who puts his career before my life in the first place. And it's not gonna be literally every doctor, that's pretty silly.

I try not to be so blunt, but this is one of the most insane takes that I have ever heard.

They obviously wouldn't wait until the actual emergency is there.

As soon as the laws pass that endanger doctors to go to prison whatever they do, they will make their move. They can help people in countries that appreciate them just as fine.

And no, it will not be every doctor. But it would be every doctor with the knowledge to safely do an abortion and a reasonable expectation to be asked for one. And probably many others who don't want to practice in such a country.

And if some of them stay anyway, well, they will very soon be in prison and not practice anymore.
