Picked up Ever 17. It's probably the least Uchikoshi-like of his games that I've played so far.
Isn't Ever 17 the sequel to Never 7? Did you play that already?
(Drath, that spoiler'll be safe to open once you leave Midgar.)
I've already played through the game 3 times, so spoilers are fine.

The way I see it, Ever 17 is the one that is the most alike Uchikoshi's other titles and hence the one I was most curious about. I bought the bundle for Ever 17 and treat Never 7 as a bonus.

Oh, it isn't a direct sequel? I thought the plot might have continued from Never 7.

Edit: So, uh... plot twist.

Sorry about the phone camera photos of the screen, it's easier for me to upload than taking screenshots on my Playstation.
Did you change something in your approach or just kept going until RNGeezus complied?

For me, part of the fun of my second/revenge play-through was smashing through all of these jerk bosses with my ungabunga build. I found, as a rule, the best defense is offense.

"Luck is where preparation meets opportunity." By learning to avoid all the attacks that I could, I was able to survive the ones that I couldn't, for long enough to reach P2 at first and then finally to bring him down. And since I've been running an unga bunga build myself, I can say with confidence that Maliketh hard counters unga bunga with his constant backsteps, so I have no idea what you ran the first time where this fight was even harder.

Basically switching between mage and bleed builds. I don't remember which one was used for all the bosses but I think for Maliketh I was mage with comet azur and mimic tear, so maybe one of us stun blasted his first phase and the other did the second.

I am playing Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX (PSP). This is by far still the most content rich version of the game, and it is stuck on the fucking PSP! I put this on my emulation device and Reverse Dramatic Battle (1P vs. 2 CPUs) is so much fun! It's much harder than Dramatic Battle though. I going to be playing the shit out of all these bonus modes now. There's an option for Easy Command Inputs, so tough or tougher supers are each easier to use and abuse. This is true street fighting right here folks!

Last three:

3. Gideon went down on my third or fourth attempt. He may be all-knowing, but he's not much of a PVPer. Guess he just reads the wiki a lot and doesn't have a lot of experience fighting in practice?

2. Godfrey's first phase was mostly pretty manageable, since it's all attacks I've seen before from other enemies basically. I did die to it a few times, but that was a symptom of frustration more than a lack of skill, because I got as far as Hoarah Loux more often than not. And his moveset... I mean, it's really cool, but some of those moves are kinda wild. I don't think I dodged the attack where he pulls rocks out of the ground a single time, and since I'm putting all my carry weight into weapons over armor, getting grabbed below 70% was death every time. But somehow I managed to fluke out a win after some 15 attempts and one burned Rune Arc. (It was the run right after the Rune Arc one.) Still, really cool fight, and despite being spoiled on the lore almost entirely I liked how they set up the big reveal.

1. I haven't gone after Radagon yet, I still need to get my brain back in balance from Hoarah Loux.

@Xprimentyl If you haven't finished Elden Ring yet, I'm about to. You've still got some time though.

He’s one of those bosses where it seems counterintuitive to roll towards him during his attacks (I’m reminded personally of the invisible snow tigers from DS2’s Ivory King dlc) but it’s about the only way to gain a retaliatory advantage for melee since he’s so mobile. Also the pillars can be helpful for healing like with the O & S fight.

As an aside for the Grafted Blade, it’s worth noting the L2 grants super armor for the first five seconds. Which means it should tank pretty much anything, but note it can only be applied every 60 seconds (duration of the stat increases), which is likely intentional to prevent spamming one of the best defenses in the game.

Ryse: Son of Rome on PC.
1) Amazing graphics on last gen launch title
2) Dull, repetitive gameplay with damage sponges. You run a guy through with a sword, there really shouldn't be much follow up after that.

Playing The Mummy Demastered, a Metroidvania developed by WayForward (the Shantae devs) as a tie-in to the 2017 Tom Cruise movie.

Famously the most remarkable thing about the game is that 1) it exists at all and 2) it's so much better than the movie (which I haven't seen).

You play some mook doing the Metroid in a cave system. If you die you switch over to some other mook, virtually identical, with the task of killing your zombie to retrieve your stuff.

In Castlevania fashion the biggest hurdle are flying enemies and thrown projectiles, which tend to ambush you just off screen and deliver a nasty knockback. At least enemies don't spawn infinitely in most rooms.

There's some very neat stuff in this. Your first power up is the ability to cling to ceilings and upper body your way across them, which is pretty novel for an MV as far as sorting obstacles goes. And you get a flamethrower that isn't actually crap like every other flamethrower in every other game, but fun to use and incredibly practical. Weapons in general pack a nice satisfying punch.

But seriously, good job and good luck, dude. You really breezed through some of my rough patches, and from the impression I got with my couple of attempts at Radagon/Elden Beast, I imagine your next post will be to let us know you're the new Elden Lord.

It just occurred to me that I got about two-thirds of the way through Antonblast but never actually finished it, so I'll probably see about clearing out the last few levels of that before I start anything else. Call it a palate cleanser.

Show off, but congrats! I must’ve had more than a hundred to bs that didn’t even involve fighting anything. Couldn’t even count how many on top of that. And adding about 50 RL to that by the time I beat Malenia.

I didn't ever beat Malenia, so did I actually beat the game at all?
Well, sure you did, becoming Elden Lord ‘n all. But technically by design, the vast majority of the game is optional. So really it’s more a matter of how much of it any given player wants to see. And yes, many bosses and even locations have repeatable variants for lore/loot reasons, so they’re mostly irrelevant.

That said, one question would be, Mohg: did you beat him? More specifically the Lord of Blood version. Shortly before the dlc release, it was estimated that only 39% of players had done so.

I never found either Mohg. Maybe if I ever get around to a second playthrough I'll see about knocking out the rest of the major bosses, but for now I think I'm ready to move on. Maybe if I ever pick up Sherdtree, since I don't actually have that either.

I’m never tried it, but it’s probably still available post game in the current playthrough since there’s at least a couple ways to get to that Mohg, if you can’t find White Mask Varre. The game cycle doesn’t change until you choose the option for it at Roundtable.
