I managed a 1CC with Douglas Bild in Rushing Beat. I did use save states, and I don't care due to how cheap certain enemies and most bosses are.

V-ISM is busted in Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper, and I love the game for it! You can make some crazy and busted combos with a lot of characters.

Why do the competitive FGC hate this super meter again? None of y'all have a problem with it in Capcom vs. SNK 2. Where it's even more busted and broken no matter which version you're playing.

Just finished my fourth playthrough of Titan Souls and popped by second rarest Platinum, with a completion rate of 2.06%, just behind Fall Guys (1.95%). Neat!

My first impressions of the game were that it was a little rough around the edges for something so demanding in terms of precision, and that the tedium of reanimating and slowly plodding back to the fight only makes things more challenging. These are my parting impressions as well, although you definitely git gud across all the repetition.

I know I should've played more of FF7 Rebirth, but I've had other stuff on my mind, and most recently that's been finding a copy of Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii on sale and playing my first Yakuza/LaD game in a long-ass time. Good to say, kicking ass still feels as good as it ever has, even with Majima's new moveset that I've barely unlocked any of in just the first chapter. Story's relatively light-hearted compared to some of the previous entries, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing either.

Hopefully I actually end up playing more of this than I have of Rebirth, and/or that this gets me back into enjoying Rebirth again sooner. (Though having read the minigame list for this one, that should keep my attention for a while if nothing else, presumably.)

Picked up Death's Door because it's the next game by the studio that made Titan Souls, and happily is often name-dropped next to stuff like Tunic and other indie Zelda-likes. It's all very charming and delightful so far and the level design is remarkable. Gameplaywise it's a bit on the simple side - repetitive combat and very basic puzzling. But the presentation and exploration glues everything together.

Desperate to play SOMETHING that pushes my new graphics card and I haven't played before, I bought the RE4 remake that I wrote off after the promotional videos and demo. It's better than I expected so far, but still inferior and only exists because Capcom won't make original games with the finance adjusted for inflation/bloat and directorial freedom that went into their old games anymore.

Twenty years ago, those words would not have been highlighted. I could have figured it out on my own! It's the riddle for a lock in the big village house where Ada first appears, shooting through the window and then zipping up.

My first sitting was until the defeat of the big fish, Del Lago. I'm playing it on Hardcore because the menu recommended that for original RE4 players. The game is pretty generous. Prefer this over the sponges enemies were against a Claire/Leon who could move and precisely shoot in the smaller spaces of the RE2 remake. Still haven't purchased a gun or stored anything in the storage boxes. With how big the attache case becomes, there was no need to bring the storage boxes from previous games in as well. That was the whole point of letting you expand it so much.

Through part of July on Persona 3 Reload. Let's just say this is where the story really is starting to seem to take its shape, and now I'm a bit more understanding of why everyone holds this up as the "dark" Persona game.

Whew, I finally beat ZeroRanger. Holy crap I could have made that so much easier on myself. So I have been playing it off and on for years and I never did the level skip, which I really should have done since the final final bit, your health depends on how many continues you have left and usually by the time I got there I had like none left and if you die there it deletes your data. You earn continues with score, if your good you can pretty much fill it up with a few runs, but its still annoying after playing it awhile. I also never used the level skip before and you can start pretty much right at the final fight, which makes things much more manageable.

Anyway, it ended pretty awesome and I am so glad I finally beat it, it just took way too long to do since each time I would play it I would have to get my skills back, but its still a fantastic game.

Because I hate crouch makes quiet so much, I like to test how much I can stay upright in games. In RE4 you can run right up to the backs of unaware enemies before using the knife.

With this game, I finally realized that bloom is crappy.

I've been playing it on and off for a couple of months now (also hardcore) and my feeling are very mixed...

Its nice, graphic are great but still remain faithful and I actually quite like what they did with Ashley (although I still don't really like the new model)

But...

First, I hate how sluggish Leon is, I understand that leaving tank control behind they had to compensate somehow, but I can never get used to how slow he is at getting out of the way.

But my big issue is how aggressive the adaptive difficulty is, it really feel like how well I do is completely unimportant. I can go trough a room and perfectly kill every enemy using the re usable bolt thrower so that I use no ammo or health item, and the game will just reward me with puny amount of money that don't matter in the long run. Conversely, if I go trough playing really poorly, using all my most precious ammos and scarfing down healing item, the game will shower me with a tons of supply (which you can then game to get even more supply). I really wish there was an option to turn it off in the difficulty setting.

Wow, they butchered Mendez, the spine boss. Made the barn much bigger, decreasing tension, made the cutscene for his body splitting in half too long and made him throw infinite wooden beams and gasoline barrels from the far side. Also ruined Leon's Spanish Leon by not pointing the camera at his face before he fires the bullet into the barrel. A pathetic interpretation.

I wouldn't say sluggish, but he has weight to him. You get used to controls, and controlling Remake Leon I had little issues with.

Not really. I love the remake version of this boss better. Much more dynamic and fun to fight than the original.

. A pathetic interpretation.
By your pathetic, whiny, flippant, and almost never happy about anything standards. I am glad Capcom doesn't try to please people like you at all. Because they actually get somewhere and many places by doing so.

Capcom vs. SNK 2 - I have an arcade run on pause at the moment. I'm trying to get either Shin Akuma or God Rugal. I have just about enough points for either one. I have to finish it when I get back from work.

Another nonresponse from BrawlMan.

With Mendez's eye being only a sellable treasure and not a key like in the original, they should have simply left the item out.

Liked the character designs, writing and voices of the original more, plus the fact that the characters mostly kept their mouths shut during gameplay. Ashley commenting on Leon jumping on chandeliers and Leon then calling her his mother during play was forced in that way modern tentpole action and adventure movies force their dialogue.

The blue I turned off because they're pointless film envy. The red are just one level below maximum. The framerate is normally much higher than 120 and rarely goes below 110, even in open areas. I'm playing this with a 9070 XT and an i5-12600K. The engine is impressive.

The grey blacks suck, though. That modern cinematography. They all want to be Roger Deakins, whose fire in 1917 isn't bright enough to be fire. It looks especially messed up later in the castle. I tried turning off HDR, but that resulted in this ugly dark blue tint in those night scenes and made the whole image duller.

Edit: No, that dark blue that's supposed to be moonlight in the castle courtyard crushes the darks in HDR as well.

Beat Ghost Trick... I remembered that I loved it and now I know just how much. Music is fantastic, graphics are nice and colorful, animations are fun, story is just fantastic. Love it.

Its on sale, go get it.

No, it's called proper character development and turning Ashley into more than just an annoyance, unlike her original counterpart. Remake Ashley is an actual character and I actually give a shit about her.

As always, you speak like a true contrarian who is never happy with anything and like sniffing his own farts.

No, those small talk lines are lame. Leon makes too many unnecessary comments when alone, acting like one regular enemy is a unique encounter after dozens of them, complaining about some aspect of his in-game status after the player has been there many times already. Also not a good idea to make them breathe so hard when the player will be running so much.

Ashley wasn't annoying in the original. She was designed and played more like a kid, adding to her vulnerability. I don't see what there was to dislike, unless you think women should only be mature.

I don't get why Leon is so much nastier at Luis. What's up his ass?

All right. Your last several posts gave me the opposite impression, so I was legitimately curious.

OT: Still playing through Persona 3 Reload. Now that I'm through the obligatory beach episode, I'm hoping the story gets back on track. It has been quite good so far, just...beach episodes suck.

Me: "I don't get why Leon is so much nastier at Luis. What's up his ass?"

Good response: "He became a mega simp. I wrote this a while back:"

While being a fun video, it’s one of the best showcases to symbolize the decay of fun, and somewhat edgy video-game characters. All to fit a "modern audience" (whatever that entails). A character that is now not even allowed to be a little cheeky towards the opposite sex. It’s a tough world when not even a self-assured super agent like Leon is given a pass in this sanitized age. What makes this video so great is that the modern remake is essentially the same game as the classic , but with a re-written protagonist to not run the risk of offending anyone.

He is not the only one in the cast to be neutered, but he is the stand-out character in this case. Although I enjoyed the RE4 remake, much of the cool 1990 to early 2000s personality was erased, to be replaced by a boring semi-depressive hero, rather than the collected one-line spouting badass that he once was.
Yeah, he really is blander.
