What's the "leftist history" here...?
Ignore that. It's Collective Shout cherry picking, and shifting blame. No one is buying it. Long story short: they've been harassed by the usual right wing reactionaries, and managed to piss them off too. CS, Mastercard, and Visa are everyone's enemy on the Internet and the world.

In addition, call your congressmen and congresswomen, and tell them you don't want the SCREEN Act, KOSA, nor the IODA to pass in congress. They make any type of porn illegal. No matter if you paid officially off of a legit site, or got it for free.

Here's the biatch at the top causing all of this shit.

Went to read the original OHPI article (that Tankard Reist links to in her Twitter post). Its not positioning Collective Shout as the new Gamergate. Its likening the reaction against them to it.

So Ana Valens has either completely misunderstood what they were saying, or failed to read it.

ive seen folks try to spin the recent Executive order targetting debanking (and similar Bills) as being a W for free speech but all evidence points to the contrary The EO has a carve out that, under this administration, would 100%, no doubt, be used to continue targetting sex work/nsfw content

this is for re-banking people involved in Jan 6th, or crypto shitheads of what have hyou the carve out is basically "yeah but also if our administration doesnt like it we'll still allow debanking" and like. The guy who fucking wrote project 2025 is in the administration

So Ana Valens has either completely misunderstood what they were saying, or failed to read it.
I looked them up. They're an idiot.

When it comes to Collective Shout Gamergate, it was mainly attacking female journalists who were attempting to get into, or were in, the game industry, or were feminist academics. Collective Shout is a conservative org. They want fewer games overall. Feminists want games to be more inclusive and generally more accepting of other groups that aren't men. Collective Shout has brought down LGBTQ+ games, and would delete the entire gaming space if it wanted. And I don't think the problem is even them. It's a bunch of billionaires and millionaires who want to bring down gaming to get the birthrate up, more people working, and to attack what they perceive to be an increasingly anti-corporate and generally unprofitable industry that is increasingly against the rich. It's Visa, Mastercard, and PayPal that want to censor based on the rich's desires. And no crypto won't generally help unless you can figure out how to make it underground and devoid of the profit motive. Bitcoin is an investment first and foremost. The stablecoins are tied to the USD. Second-tier coins like ETH are also investments, and all other altcoins are basically pump and dumps. Granted, I have 100s bucks in bitcoin, which is purely based on FOMO, but it's not an investment I am proud of.

Do you have any source of it being an action by the moneyed interest?

EDIT: Also since nobody else chose to comment on this:

Over 1000 pages. Wow. So many funny events to start discussions over.

I have been unable to find any direct links, but they are anti-abortion. There are rumors that they are funded by far-right religious groups, but take those with a grain of salt until people can confirm it. And the person in question seems to have connections to multiple anti abortion politicians in Australia.

Note: I don't align with KotakuInAction, and I think because of them, the game industry is a non-contained nonsense culture war with no lines in the sand based solely on vibes, but they are right in that there is no way to audit their funders, and I doubt it's all small-dollar donations.

it is time to (don't look at the time) become candace

to defeat candace!

There isn’t yet a tariff on conspiracist narratives. So former Daily Wire podcaster Candace Owens imported one from France. Which is why she now finds herself the subject of a serious lawsuit filed by the French President Emmanuel Macron and the First Lady Brigitte Macron.

Owens used Instagram influencer aesthetics to recycle a 2021 theory for American audiences that was originally promoted by a French spiritual medium and spread through “Yellow Vest” and antivax networks. For some reason, Owens wasn’t satisfied with the genuinely odd history of the Macrons’ relationship (they met when Brigitte was married with children and Emmanuel was just 14, despite most American sources claiming they met when he was 15.) Instead she picked up the convoluted conspiracy theory that Brigitte is really her brother Jean-Michel Trogneux who became a trans woman and proceeded to assist with turning Emmanuel into an MKULTRA-controlled “Manchurian Candidate.” In Owen’s ludicrous tale, the Macrons then killed anyone who started asking questions about Brigitte’s past, Clinton-body-count style. But since this nonsense is powered by crude bigotry rather than any investigatory impulse, the evidence is unsurprisingly weak. Owens’ method of argumentation involves ignoring the fact that Jean-Michel Trogneux is clearly alive and a separate person, looking at real photos and declaring them fake, and birthday numerology.

Travis, Jake, and Julian unpack Owens’ past, the history of the conspiracy theory, how she promoted it through the 8-part series “Becoming Brigitte,” and the lawsuit that now threatens her independent media empire.

Wasn't there a similar conspiracy theory around Michelle Obama? Matter of fact, I think that whole... let's call it a strategy, of accusing random women of being secretly trans started with her and Lady Gaga.

I think I'd call it a trend, at least nowdays, rather than a strategy. Random people keep saying it about any and all women of note, seemingly for no political gain. For example, Taylor Swift (after she got noticeably fitter preparing for her recent tour), and Ariana Grande.

And before them, Ciara (R&B singer). And before her, Jamie Lee Curtis.

Yeah, a bunch of sexist assholes with nothing better to do, than accuse somebody just because they're insecure, homophobic or transphobic towards people different from them.

even has a term: "transvestigation/transvestigators" - and I assure you the community are often severely fucked in head, terminally online and in dire need of any variation of intervention even if it's just the merciful promise of cataclysmic arrival of a large comet upon this earth

Remember the good old days when women who didn't fall into the tradtional feminine beauty standards were just called "ugly" or "manly"? But now they're literally men trying to trick everyone into thinking they're women - This is how much the internet (with a dash of Covid) has cooked people's brains.

This predates the Internet. Rumors about that were spread about Jamie Lee Curtis.

No, its not. This is monumental ignorance of what vaccination is.

No, absolutely not. You explicitly acknowledged that they may or may not have covid, and you even said "I'll ignore that". You seem to have just forgotten what you posted. Go back and reread your own post.

Infections can still happen-- including severe ones-- in people who have already had covid. The risk of such a thing happening is much lower... and yet still many times higher than the negligible risk of myocarditis from the vaccine.

You. Are. Fearmongering. About. An. Utterly. Negligible. Risk. You have no fucking idea of relative risks; you cannot distinguish between policy and science; and you seem not even to grasp what vaccination is. For once in your life, acknowledge the limits of your knowledge.

No: the recommendations were adapted because the benefits-to-cost were minor. It was not due to the non-risk of mild myocarditis.

After all, only a certain kind of vaccine even had this myocarditis risk, and yet govs stopped recommending any vaccines as necessary for certain groups.
What the fuck are you going on about?
Infection - The invasion and growth of germs in the body.

Once the vaccine is introduced into the body, it recreates the disease without allowing an infection to take hold. Vaccines stimulate the immune system to develop defences that will act against specific germs or viruses should the body one day come into contact with them.

I didn't forget what I posted. The math doesn't add up to your numbers even if I grant you all assumptions in your favor. I don't care if the hospitalizations are directly covid related or just with covid because your math is still wrong either way.

The vaccine and/or natural infection massively and exponentially lowers your chances of getting severe disease via a covid infection. There's no reason to get a vaccine if you (non-vulnerable people) had a prior infection, it doesn't confer MORE protection against severe disease. It's a big enough risk that the vaccines come to providing net harm vs net benefits to certain groups of people.

Both the mRNA vaccines had the issue. The J&J one was already pulled, there were no other vaccines in the US.

It's trans panic, sparked by men who are terrified that the women they try to rape will turn out to also be men, and that will make them GAY (which to them is a fate worse than death).

Republicans have the perception that any large city north of the Mason-Dixon line is basically like Detroit in Robocop, with roving gangs killing and raping while the police hide in their headquarters. That's why you get people who haven't been further north than Atlanta talking about "restoring our great American cities from the crime-ridden hellholes they've become".
