Civvie 11 is getting into what was an overall disappointing* sequel to me: Thief: Deadly Shadows.

* Aside from "The Shalebridge Cradle" and "House of the Widow Moira", which were two of the best Thief levels to have come down the pike.

Analysis of what went wrong with Ubisoft.

His takeaway is that Ubisoft will survive but restructured, and his recommendaton is that they should work on making sure that titles that take 5 years to develop should only take 3 years.

Guessing the solution to this is to not be juggling five IPs at a time and maybe just oh idk, focus on making a couple good ones. Without the stupid fucking MTX bs.

Ubisoft can die at this point, and I would live with that just fine.

Guy's first Dark Souls playthrough, he makes ALL the mistakes, literally everything that can go wrong in a blind playthrough does. I know they say there's no "wrong" way to play these games, but as he patently states what he's trying to do along the way, even he'd agree he did it wrong. Still ended up calling it one of his favorite games of all time; his next playthrough with wikis and whatnot is going to blow his mind.

I know last year was you first time playing DS1, but have you played DS2, DS3, or Elden Ring? Because the formula is pretty much the same, but improved with each iteration. DS2 gets a lot of things wrong, and I'd skip it personally (fight me, DS2 defenders,) but DS3 is fantastic, and ER is basically FromSoft blowing their Souls load in magnificent fashion.

To each their own, imo the formula peak at DS1 and has been mostly downhill from there, I started ER and made it about half way trough before kinda going on to other stuff (might go back one day, but not sure).

Not saying DS1 is perfect, it has lots of flaw, but every iteration leave the flaw in (its really annoying trying to switch main weapon mid game) while doubling down on what I find disappointing (combat relying on frame timing and enemy tracking the player).

I know DS2 is divisive; I also already saw Yahtzee play through the whole thing so it kinda defeats the purpose of looking for adventure. So it's either DS3 or ER and of the two I think I'm more interested in ER since it's the latest one and probably the biggest swing from DS1. Already played Demon's Souls, DS1 and Bloodborne.
