Why do you people keep engaging with Ezekiel? You aren't going to convince him of anything, it's just like the saying goes about mud-wrestling with a pig. I get the urge with how smug Ezekiel is, mind you, but that's why I have him on ignore and only look at his posts when I feel a sick sense of wonder at what he has said to rile people this time.
Yes. Similar reasons and this was one of those times. Sometimes you have to be "absured" as he his or repeat things to him, until he gets annoyed and bored.

On topic: I finished Golden Axe Plus. I love this mod, and will not be going back to the original Genesis Rom. I completed my 8 star difficulty run of Street Fighter II: Turbo - Hyper Fighting with Ken. I won't be doing that again.

I might get back to Ninja Gaiden Ragebound either tonight or tomorrow. There is a lot of TV shows I need to catch up on first.

I can see that. I just don't think Ezekiel is interested in having a conversation. Ever. He's too busy trying to grace us with his knowledge to be interested in hearing other perspectives.
Well, everybody comes to forums for different reasons. There isn't a requirement to engage in conversation and we've had plenty of users in the past who have used the forum that way.

I know I can be an asshole sometimes, but I at least try to hear people out and actually engage, as long as I think there's any chance of actual engagement back.

Astroneer expedition early access allegedly according to the full title
Seeing as the original had a kind of multiplayer half to it I ignored, it would be unbecoming of me to rail on the multiplayer focus for this sequel too hard. However, the choice to move to a drop in drop out extraction cycle for this where the oxygen is just your timer and not your own lil trail of exploration beacons does lose some rugged individualism magic to it, plus they don't do that thing where every item you carry has its own visible cute lil cube on your backpacks with stacked items showing precisely how much is there in the carefully modded cube game too. Though, if there's any one thing in videogames that'll make me forget most indignant sins, it's a new approach to water physics, especially in 3D games, ESPECIALLY especially with heavy attention on unbridled terrain modification. The most fun with Pokémon Pokopia was figuring out what kinda weird system rules its water physics was playing by - cos it certainly wasn't based on volume, instead more like a loosey goosey "how far from original source are ya, and how many drops you got?" rulebook. This game's water, or whatever liquid it is, is going for a rather alien looking gloopy globlets of melted PS2 edges type shindig, following whatever canyons and rivers you wanna carve out for it...and you bet your arse I've got plans brewing on seeing what an underground cavern beneath the whole mini planet's sea will do when a hole is bored through to sea bed...can we drain the whole sea?? Ohhhhh how calamitous!
My opinion is still in early access on this, sorry.

SODAMAN

SODAMAN IS 80S PIXE ART HUFFMAN VAMPIRE SURVIVORS. LOWER CASE IS FOR COWARDS. WHAT MORE NEEDS TO BE SAID? OTHER THAN THE STICK DRIFT ON MY LEFT THUMBSTICK CAME OUT OF NOWHERE, NOT THE GAME'S FAULT, BUT IT IS EXTRA SENSITIVE TO THAT THUMBSTICK, WHILE A PLAGUE'S TALE TANKS IT LIKE A CHAMP

(To add to the above replies, sometimes it's fun to poke the weirdos and see what noises they make. Sometimes a psychological profile is just too tempting to draw out from the shadows lol)

Bought the Season Pass for Final Fantasy 16 a month or so ago for a tenner so I'm currently playing through the game again to get to the point where you can access the DLC episodes and blimey I forgot how tedious and boring this game is to actually play.

The combat doesn't evolve from the first hour of the game, aside from getting some different cool-down abilities to throw out every minute or two. FF7 Remake and Rebirth felt a bit more varied than this. Also the giant Eikon battles look pretty, but they're a slog to play through as they take way too long to complete and are dead simple. And finally quests that have you walk back and forth in your base to talk to a bunch of NPCs rather than the game just summoning them in a cutscene or something, it's just so tedious.

More Spider-Man: Remastered. I want to like this game, I really do, but it's giving me strong "Ubisoft" vibes throwing more and more shit to do and collect across a massive map, and it's hard for me to get invested in stuff like this anymore. People calling me over a suspiciously "always-on" communication device and giving me random tasks every 2 minutes is getting annoying. I really hoped I'd get that same sense of wonder I had with Spider-Man 2 back on the OG Xbox where just the traversal felt fun enough in and of itself, but they've somehow managed to convolute even that with this game. I'll finish it, maybe it'll even grow on me, but after about an hour's worth of a first impression, I'd call it a "Ubisoft checklist" clone.

For the Steam summer sale I saw that a title I had seen being played over on LittleKuriboh's twitch channel was 90 % off. Since I remember having fun watching him play it (in particular since it was a title that very much allowed for audience participation) I figured "What the hey" and purchased it.

Crime O'Clock, a hidden objects game where crimes have been committed and you must find the culprits' activities over a series of frozen still images.

It has really charming graphics and the scenes are brimming with recreations of pop culture rendered in its' art style. There is also a storyline which uses really complicated jargon; like I'm trying to imagine a child playing this and just thinking "words words words" whenever the storyline comes up. I bring this up because I would think this is a game suitable for all ages otherwise.

Between the hidden objects scenes there are some minigames which are a lot more miss than hit.

I've been trying a few of the neogo pocket fighting games. Mainly SNK vs. Capcom. It's amazing what they're able to pull off with just two buttons. Most moves are easy to pull off. So they were definitely thinking the ergonomics of this controller. I'm playing on my emulation device though. So certain inputs are even easier with the left stick. There is a single, tag, and team mode. I don't know why you would ever bother with single.Unless you want to just do something different, but the main attraction is the tag mode. It's two versus two, and you tag and are out by holding the back button, and both punch and kick button at the same time. I chose Sakura and Ryo (Art of Fighting). I wanted to see Sakura's ending, so I used her to beat the final boss.

I'm giving FromSoftware a chance to redeem themselves in my eyes okay I bought it before I finished Elden Ring and don't feel like refunding it: I'm now playing Armored Core VI: Can't Be Bothered To Remember the Subtitle. Statements declaring it to be "A better Gundam game than any Gundam game" seem to be fairly apt, but I'm running into one problem- I just can't see many of the smaller enemies until they're nearly on top of me, on account of every area so far being an array of cement-grey cubes that the darker-colored enemies don't really stand out against. Also, the UI is a cluttered mess that has a hard time conveying the information it wants me to know.

I have made it as far as the first fight against an enemy AC, and distant memories of the three or so times I played Virtual On have resurfaced.

It's funny and sad that the biggest improvement in Spider-Man 2 is Peter and Miles' default suits actually looking properly coloured now; Peter's suit actually looks red now instead of the slight orange hue it has in the PS4 game, and Miles' looks actually black and no longer greyish like in Miles Morales.

Also, not the greatest issue in the game by far, but Hailey (the deaf girl) gets turned into the blandest character as soon as she becomes Miles' girlfriend. Not that she had a huge presence in the Miles Morales game, but she looked cool and you got the impression she was doing her own thing. In Spider-Man 2 she's really just the girlfriend character and nothing more.
I found it funny that they had a skin for the original suit from the first game. Not sure why anyone would want to use it.

I also admit that I had no idea if Hailey was actually Miles' girlfriend or not. I was a little shocked that she knew his secret identity. I did play Miles Morales but didn't like it much either, so I guess I just wiped that memory from my mind.

Its pretty far from a gundam game, the only similarity is that both have mech, but thats not much.

Why would any player want Carl Johnson to smell bad if he doesn't change into different clothes for a while?

How about planning dates instead of making Denise get mad at CJ for not picking her up on a random night? He has so much to do.

CJ looks much worse with a lot of muscle, mostly because what I guess are supposed to be his trapezoid muscles extends to the far shoulders, making it look like his head is too high. I use the treadmill and stationary bike more, for high stamina. Rockstar was right to drop the gym in later games. It takes up too much time.

Phantom Breaker Battlegrounds Ultimate - The best version of this Guardian Heroes style brawler. I got it for $2.49 on Switch. The character DLC is on sale, but not a high priority. It, along with Code of Princess, are better sequels to Guardian Heroes than the official sequel to Guardian Heroes on GBA. There is no reason to go back and play the old versions of this game either.

Made some good progress in RE: Requiem. The near-escape from the institute was pretty neat, but man this game just loves to keep you stuck. I hope this water treatment area doesn’t have me running around in the dark too much again after that last underground section.

Also, DOOM 2016. Finally made it past the Advanced Research Complex fight that skunked me for a night. Now on to the Weapon Research Division, but going to do the rune challenge first.

I'm back from my vacation in Iceland (holy balls what a lovely country!), to which I took my Switch 2 to keep my company on flights and while my wife slept in a bit later than me. During which I finished my time with:

Super Mario Wonder
I am delighted that I can still be delighted by Mario. The animations, the platforming, the fun enemies.
As this is the Switch 2 version it comes with an expansion that revolved around big fun boss battles and they are so fun, definitely would recommend getting this version for those.

Star Fox
A mixed bag for me. Overall enjoyed it, but I really hated the dogfight battles, the parts where you're not on rails and flying around. I was hoping to play through all the various paths to the ending but at one point I hit a big dog fight in the last level and it was miserable. I beat it a couple of times to get to the "true ending' and once even beat the final boss- then died on my last life on the last bit (it's the last thing you do before seeing end game cut scenes, I think). And then I just quit, because I'd have to do the f***ing dogfight again, which is just flying around in circles chasing purple icons around and it sucks.

But the main parts, the flying forward blasting things and collecting doo-dads is hella fun. Even the parts where you're a car or a boat (the car part is actually one of my favorite parts where there's a bonus objective to hit a bunch of switches which lets you avoid an annoying boss battle). In fact I pretty much hate the boss battles almost as much as the dogfights, but love everything else. But the annoying parts are turning me off from making this a game I come back to.

Those dog fights can actually be really easy once you get used to how Starwolf fights. When one is behind you just immediately barrel roll and usually you can get at least a few hits off. They also tend to barrel roll when you shoot at them and if you either slow or do one after them you can stick behind them. Oh, also, if you have powered up shots, they can make the fights go so much faster.

I think the thing that annoys me most about the new Starfox is that to access hard mode you have to get medals in each of the levels so you will be replaying it a decent amount before you can play it harder.

Still playing through Crime o'Clock.

I'm increasingly realizing that the parts I enjoy the most would've been better if they were not an actual video game.

Finding the characters over the course of a ticks to recreate the storyline is fun. I however think I'd enjoy it more if it was a printed album where I'd get to flick back-and-forth and see how the storyline progresses, like in Full Moon Soup.

I maintain that the storyline probably is too difficult for actual children to comprehend. It came to a head in a session today when the instruction was that "We must create a Faraday cage". What child knows what a Faraday cage is? And the non-image related challenges remain unchallenging enough that they mostly feel like busy work.

I've made some progress and beaten a number of bosses in Armored Core VI: Piles of Barleycorn, and the usual FromSoft tropes are all present- except that without the ability to level your way past the problem, the only way to survive against bosses is to memorize their movements and attacks... that are nearly impossible to read, and often indicated with a warning beep that happens along with the attack.

Thankfully, there's also another FromSoft trope in play: The One True Build. Paired miniguns and paired dual-barrel grenade launchers will melt nearly anything thanks to the stance break- uh, I mean, ACS mechanic. What few enemies don't immediately drop can just be ground down while zipping back and forth crazily and hoping they don't insta-stagger you with some unpredictable combination attack.

Enjoy it while it works. You will have to change builds later on... depending on how it was patched since I last played it at launch and balance might be way different. The one I found that worked well for bosses but tended to have ammo issues during longer levels was a missile boat, just lots of smaller homing missiles.
