That's great 'n all, but HBO Max isn't even available in my country yet. And when (if) it is, will these movies even be available on the same day? Streaming services are kinda shitty like that.
I'm wondering if a VPN would help?
ITMT Much of my current streaming content is 4K and it looks wonderful. I live kinda in the middle of nowhere USA and yet since about 2007, things got OK and more.(I got cable modem around 2005 and it would fail so often my email did not work.)
This was inevitable. Used to be, you wanted to go out for a show? You went to a live theater. Then movie theaters, which enjoyed about a 100 year run. Movie theaters, I think, will become the fun night out that a live theater show was in 1990. Something very special.
Today, I have a comfy room with a 65" 4K curve and surround sound. I can make whatever meal and drink I want, pause for bathroom breaks. No rude people acting like they are in their own home living rooms chatting beside me, nor sticky floors. On the regular, a movie theater cannot keep up. I'll miss it the way I miss Blockbuster Video (which I do) over streaming. Recall the thrill of finding the movie you wanted is available! That your VHS would not eat it and make you owe the rental store for it? The challenge of getting it back to the rental site in time before getting charged a 2nd night?
Some theaters are forced to get creative. I paid relatively a lot (that special night out) for a dine in theater that had a guest chef cook a gourmet 5 course meal, different wine per course as you watched a related movie. That small chain of theaters is typically sold out even now. Regular chain? I just saw "The Last Vermeer" in a large theater with some 16 rooms... empty. Me and the missus had the room to ourselves.
This kind of streaming is the future. We'll enjoy it but oddly miss the old system some how.
