Geez what next.

The hackers also claim to have access to "all" of the company's documents related to "accounting, administration, legal, HR, investor relations and more." The ransom note ends by noting that CD Projekt Red has 48 hours to contact the hackers, or "your source codes will be sold or leaked online and your documents will be sent to our contacts in gaming journalism. Your public image will go down the shitter even more and people will see how you [sic] shitty your company functions. Investors will lose trust in your company and the stock will dive even lower," the note continues.

Wonder how bad it is.

Apparently they have now released the source code for the standalone GWENT card game, and there will be another leak tomorrow.

CD Projekt have had a really hard time of it, of late. Of course 2077 was of their own doing, but this really sucks for them.

I can't believe hackers still use expressions like "epically pwned".
Just show that certain people still act like they're in high school or early college and never grew out of that phase. They have yet to fully mature at all.

Yeah I feel like this is just a crime and shouldn't be funny to anyone. Regardless of how you feel about Cyberpunk or whatever, this is never called for.

Fucking shit weevils. I hope they get the book thrown at them.
Well there's one I haven't seen before.

Ransom notes will use all kinds of terms to obfuscate who the real person is. I don't think we can determine yet if this is how they actually talk or is just a front to make them seem like they're younger than they are.

yeah but, do the youngins actually say epically pwned? That feels more like a phrase that was already kind of old like 15 years ago when I started hearing it online. If I saw that, I would assume they were an older person. Like in their 40s or so , give or take a few years.

That's kind of my point. It's the kind of phrase kids would have used seriously over a decade ago but wouldn't use now.

Maybe it's just "hacker culture" that still uses that lingo.

Yeah, look at us all posting on here after 10ish years... !

I know this isn't what you meant, but it made for a fun-ish joke.

No worries, it's all good. Though I started posting here in 2016 on V1. But I would occasionally read the threads, back in the early days of the Escapist.

Hopefully, they release the source code for Cyberpunk 2077. So that we could finally have good mods on the game.

I hardly support what the hackers did, but can someone tell me why I should care how this affects CDPR? Genuine question.

Shows that you can’t trust them with your details. They are also a gaming selling platform and having such a leak could make you not want to shop there anymore

Would that really discourage people though? Apple, Google, etc. seemed get hacked all the time and people always just go back to them after a while.
