I bought Mario 3D World for Switch with the new game, Bowser's Fury.

And in the back of my head all I can think about is "Why was this not a DLC for Odyssey?" Because that's exactly what it is, but its on 3D World.

But now I don't have triple jump, or crouching backflip jump, and I need to use a run button to build up speed which is counter intuitive with the full 3D camera.

But man this still has the good old Mario charm that I can never get tired of. And they really went hard on a new music score for this part of the game.

I don't like Nintendo's games for the most part, but I've seen 10/10 review scores for this thing floating around.

What score would you give it?

Don't forget that this was a Wii U game first before being ported to the Switch.

At the moment, a 3 out of 5 as a Expansion type content, just feels like more Odyssey that's all, the Bowser Rage moments does put things in a different twist, you now have to time certain missions and ways to get the Cat Shines.

But it does feel like there's enough here to keep me invested in. And don't get me wrong the presentation is top tier here, the music, the visuals, etc. And I like the callbacks to Mario Sunshine, Bowser Jr. has his paintbrush again.

Also I prefer 5/5 then 10/10s because I feel anything below 7 means its garbage and not worth is the manistream mindset.

Well in this case though, your 3/5 is basically 6/10 which would be “garbage”.

Care to reiterate?

No, this is my view of 5 out of 5

5 = MASTERPIECE, FLAWLESS, BUY IT
4 = Great game, lots of things going for it, only a few things hinder it from perfection
3 = Good game, has good number of things going for it, but enough going against it.
2 = Has something to it but the game is marred by too many flaws to be enjoyable.
1 = Piece of shit game that's not fun at all.
0 = Broken unplayable piece of shit.

Bowser's Fury at its core is still your typical Mario Collectathon game and this the thing holding against it. But a lot of it here is being carried by presentation and music and solid level design.

Basically this isn't a New Super Mario Brothers type of thing, but that's it has.

But all I can say is even the most barebones Mario game like New Super Mario Brothers is still a good and decent game to play.

Someday when my PS4 backlog is more or less cleaned up I’ll get a Switch or maybe whatever Nintendo does next if it’s better. Then go on a Nintendo binge and play all the main Mario and Zelda games I’ve missed since GameCube.

So that catalog means you've missed out on Nintendo Wii, Wii-U, and Switch games?

Don't know about handheld side of things.
