Whatever, just wash your hands.
I'm still hoping Bloodborne and Demon's Souls on PC
I think at least Bloodborne was confirmed as coming to pc... someday. Although those rumors came from a delayed sony event and with no news since then... So... maybe?

I doubt it will happen. It's been nearly 6 years, it would have come to PC already if it was going to happen.

FromSoft seems like the kind of company that makes a game for someone, Sony, Activision, whomever, and once it's done they wipe their hands clean and move onto the next project.

Seikro didn't even get DLC. They literally dropped the game and fucked off with it.

If they intended to do anything further with Bloodborne, they would have done so.

Elden Ring is still a game right?

Horizon Zero Dawn came out on PC last year and I think that was released back in like 2016.

Sekiro got a free "game of the year" update in October of last year. It included some free cosmetics, a boss rush mode, the ability to replay boss fights, and some other stuff.

Horizon isnt fromsoft so doesnt really matter.

As for the sekiro thing...fair enough. Still it aint gonna happen. Bloodborne 2 is more likely.

As others have pointed out, Sekiro got some free DLC content last year, including a boss rush mode. I'm fine with that. I really liked Sekiro but I'm also fine with shit not getting DLC just because. Sekiro really didn't feel like anything was missing(aside from maybe a way to take SSI's gun and shoot him in the face with it).

Elden Ring is the stuff dreams are made of until proven otherwise.

The point with Horizon is that Sony just recently started allowing their exclusives to come to PC. Previously there was no chance of getting a PC version of Bloodborne because it's a Sony exclusive. Sony changed that policy for the first time last year with the release of Horizon, so that's why people are expecting a PC version of Bloodborne at some point.

True. Pretty sure it's not FROM deciding no PC ports for DeS or BB, since Sekiro and all 3 Dark Souls got PC ports. Sony has been the blocker here.

I don't understand why Bloodborne is capped at 30fps when both DkS3 and Sekiro aren't. DkS3 in particular runs at the exact same engine.

If he can do this on his own, there’s no reason Sony can’t make this happen “officially”. Especially on PS5.
Totally agree. They also just made a 60fps patch for GoW. With BB it might be more difficult b/c framerate might be tied to other systems like weapon breaking like it was with DkS2 scholar. Still it should be relatively easy for sony. The only reason I can think is that the game is too old and too few people would care. Or ofcourse maybe Sony has bigger plans somewhere down the line.

Yeah, but it was ofcourse not just that the game was made by From and published by sony. The game was also made in collaboration with japan studio. Similarly as DeS. Maybe that was the dealbreaker here.

Probably because when Bloodborne was released, there was only the base PS4 and that can't do a truly smooth 1080/30, let alone 60fps. Iirc, a Digital Foundry analysis found that the only way to get a steady 60ps was on PS4 Pro and using the patch to drop the resolution. Perhaps dynamic resolution scaling could've resolved some of these framerate issues, but Bloodborne was from before that technique became commonplace, tho afaik none of From's games since have used it either. In any case, even that wouldn't be enough for base PS4 unless they opted to go sub 720p or something.

Found the video. And seems I was wrong. Pro at 720p can't maintain 60 either.

About the DkS3 and Sekiro being unlocked thing: both are capped at 30 on the base consoles and One X (and by extension also Series S/X). DkS3 is only uncapped on PS4 Pro and can't maintain 60, tho PS5 can. Sekiro is unlocked on Pro and One X, neither can maintain 60, tho both PS5 and Series X can.

God. It’s sad to think that even with the PS2’s hardware limitations, that was the last time that a 60fps target was a primary design choice. Then it all became about shiny visuals.

Brilliant, heroic work by this mysterious entity of homosapien persuasion! Now how does one get such a patch to copulate with the game on your average playstation-esque console? There was one added to Skyrim recently too: these digital monks should be compensated for their sacrifice more than the devs at this point in the games' lives.

I hope with PS5 the days of beautiful visuals with choppy framerate are over. DeS remake gives me confidence. Gorgeous visuals and silky smooth framerate.

for reals. Lance turned Bloodborne inside out at this point. He has been digging through the game files for like 6 years now. sony should hire him. :D

Well, the actual patch is available here:

As for how you do it? Judging from the stuff he's talking about, you need to jailbreak your PS4. Which has advantages and disadvantages.

Advantages include being able to install stuff like emulators, mods, homebrew, and such, as well as make and play backups of your games (and of course also games you not so legally downloaded from the not so savory parts of the web).

Disadvantages include losing access to all of the online functionality. No playing multiplayer games unless local. No buying on the online store. No updating your PS4, or your games. I mean, technically, you can still go online, but you'll get banned with no refunds. Also, messing up the jailbreaking process can brick your console. And I guess it voids the warranty.

Not to discourage you, but unless you want to pirate, or you're a homebrewer or someone like McDonald who like tinkering under the hood, there is not a lot of reason to jailbreak as a regular user. So you need to ask yourself whether you really want to essentially sacrifice a PS4 Pro to just serve as a device to play modded Bloodborne.

Plus, the game generally felt fluid enough as-is due to good animation techniques. Only a few instances like boss fights brought it down to cringey-town.

Ooh, thankyou for the informative breakdown! Yeah, it does seem a bit too much of a gamble when laid out like that. I already gave away my ps4 when lucky enough to be given a chance to upgrade to current gen, so it would be even more of a worrying gamble with a greater loss. And being born entirely from primordial pessimism, gambling is not something that provides any positive feelings. Err...too many "p"s sorry, good thing am not speaking with a mouth full of pretzels!
