Can't say I'm too impressed with their comments on China, then.
Well, I imagine their comments are also empirically inaccurate in terms of numbers and the like as well, so it’s probably a good thing to be unimpressed.

You can see examples taken to the extreme with science and Capitalism today. People believe in those so irrationally, they can't see flaws.
Why are you putting science in this category? It's just a tool for investigating observable phenomena and coming up with new ways to use the resulting knowledge. How does one 'believe' in it irrationally?

I know too many people who believe in science and takes everything scientist say as true but doesn't understand that it's also skeptical.

What do you think the fight about trans rights is? The other side was told that there was only two genders because that's what science said when they were little. A whole bunch of scientist have proof that it's still true. They can't grasp that what science holds up as true before is not what it holds up now, because science moves with what the data shows.

I'm not trying to blame science. It tried to inoculate itself from such dogma. It just didn't work for some people

Ever wondered why we got communists states like Russia and China instead of something closer to Marxism
No I have never thought about that ever and my stance on nationalism is of no relation.

By my experience, the people who believe most in science are also not scientists and don't understanding science.

I think mostly it's people wanting to believe whatever shit suits them, and pretending that they're definitely right because SCIENCE.

I would amend this slightly. I definitely know people who are scientists and still don't understand science.
