Maybe it's different when you actually play the game but when he mentioned the jetpacks and power armour I was sure Yahtzee was going to use the "Like Titanfall but..." stamp (or maybe that should be "Like Planetside 2 but..." since Titanfall ripped off that).
Huh, having not really talked to anyone about this game I was fully expecting it to make like the entire shooter genre and turn out to be another thinly disguised clone of the modern CODs but what do you know. Might actually consider buying it now.
So true Jim...so, so true. I have to admit I'm not sure I entirely got Yahtzee's this week but it was a well put together poem and it made me laugh a couple of times.
Oh wow, Yahtzee that was great; mature is definitely the wrong word for the sort of games I want. And Jim's was just magnificent, just the hand gestures with the pretentious music and exposition - seriously, how does Hideo Kojima still expect MGS to be taken seriously?
Is Jim going to have a different mask every week now? That would be such a stupid idea and if anyone disagrees I will hunt them down, break their legs and eat their first born child.
Also I loved Yahtzee's poem, you can tell he's an actual adventure game designer.
Just went and looked up Alien: Isolation. Jim's right, they'd better not f*** this up. Maybe this could be the 2014 release that satisfies both our dear poets' cravings.
Online dating? But Yahtzee can't get a girlfriend; how will he provide us with our weekly stream of pent up bile if he's...you know...happy? Mind you, online dating does have a kind of Russian roulette feel to it so who knows, maybe this could unlock a kind of cynicism the like of which this...
Was the bit about the joker being a terrible king something to do with Valve's interpretation of how long a wait is acceptable between episodic games? Or was it just making the point that AAA labels should use their obscene wealth and marketing expertise to support creative developers? AS...
I have heard it said that Jim tries to copy Yahtzee's sarcasm, but it's actually a surprisingly common medical condition which psychiatrists refer to as "cogitatio britannicus".
I know Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising was a pretty tedious game but you know what I actually loved? The conflict in it actually makes some sort of sense - America are Assisting Russia (cos...you know...they do actually work alongside NATO) against the Chinese in a conflict that started with...
Oh Jim you know how to rub me up the right way. They were both really good actually, I'd say Jim's was funnier though. Still what can you expect when Yahtzee writes about modern FPS's? I'm pretty sure that by now even he's finding it hard to find new ways to make hating them funny - the...
Man I wish I could just decide to not do my work and play computer games instead...I mean I wish people wouldn't keep yelling at me for it. Yahtzee's poem was good though, not sure if he had some metaphor in there this week but it was well constructed I thought.
