What was your most favorite "intense sequence" in a game?

A number of people have listed various set pieces from COD4 but for me, it was a the 'standard' combat within the US marine levels I found particularly intense, on the harder levels you find yourself pushing up to the next piece of cover, then waiting for the AI marines to follow and take some...

    Games considered "Cult Classics"

Well if Freelancer gets a mention then I'm throwing Starlancer into the ring. Also Syberia and it's sequel.

What Games Should Be Remade or Have A Sequal?

Yeah you're right there were only about 13 scripted SP missions before it went all (Elite style) open ended. Take a look at the various fan forums as it looks like a number of dedicated freelancers have built an entire follow up campaign set years after the original.

Classic/Older Games you are currently playing.

Freelancer, although it looked bleedin horrible to begin with, a tweak here, a tweak there and widescreen goodness was achieved.

The first thing you do when you start a new game.

Just prior to playing it for the first time, just after installation, I have to go and check for patches. Not sure why, I'm just a bit OCD like that.

    A praise to TIE Fighter

In my opinion the genre peaked with I-War and Edge of Chaos and nothing since has really matched them. The current incumbents of Eve and the X series are trying to be the Elite of today, one going down the multi player approach the other the single player. I can't think of a recent great...

Games No one remebers but are fantastic.

Wow, someone else actually remembers The Nomad Soul, now that was an obscure title. There was some stunning music in that game and even in-game concerts you could attend, but the controls were awkward at best, and the combat sequences were awful. But an interesting adventure nonetheless. It...

Modern Warfare 2 help/Instruction manuals suck these days.

I Just Completed Half-Life: Opposing Force

If you're going to get a PayPal account have a quick trawl through eBay, there are some cracking bargains to be had, managed to pick up Dungeon Siege, Max Payne and Psychonauts for 1-3 GBP. Assassin's Creed and COD4 were about 10-12 GBP.

    X-Com and all its glory

The BBC made a 6 or 7 part mini-series of The Day of the Triffids, it was made in the early 80's. I had forgotten about it until I found it on a video site linked from MSN. Might be worth a look if you're interested?

    Bioshock's replayability

I've been through it 3 times now, once on each of the difficulties. The first time it was an engrossing experience. The second time not so much but still an entertaining romp through Rapture, there had been something like an 8 month break between plays. The third time it was really...
