    Escape to the Movies: Immortals

He pulled that same manuever with 'Battle: LA.' That was another movie I was eager to hear his full take on.

    Escape to the Movies: Immortals

If Bob is looking for Art House action films, I wonder if he ever got around to seeing 'Hanna.' That film was fantastic with a great sense of style.

    The Big Picture: Science!

I feel as though if we can't get people behind the idea of building pipelines or drill in Alaska, you'd have a viciously abysmal time trying to get people to even considering drilling on Mars. That was a poor idea. All the rest is pretty ok though. I do want a teacup bear. Or Komodo Dragon.

Have you not bought a game after watching Yahtzee's review of it?

Quite the opposite, actually. His review of Amnesia brought it to my attention and was basically all the praise I needed to spend the slight amount of money on it on Steam. And I will love/hate him forever, because while it is a fantastic game it scares the shit out of me.

The Big Picture: In Defense of Nostalgia

I feel like - in the instance of at least one of Bob's final comments - he mixed up "nostalgia" with "personal morality."

Escape to the Movies: Rise of the Planet of the Apes

I could not disagree with Bob more. In fact, I wish I had seen the movie he reviewed, because it sounded great. Instead of a nuanced, thoughtful and interesting take on the idea of a chimp learning to be a better man than even Man can be, I saw a movie about an abused dog taking an overly...

Escape to the Movies: Captain America

Totally agree with the sentiment that the lack of irony made this movie. I've rarely seen a more earnest or sincere film, nor seen it handled this well since... well, The Rocketeer. Actually, I agree with this review on just about every level, which is rare for me when it comes to Bob...

Archbishop Claims SCOTUS Decision Is "Poisoning" The Future

As a Catholic, I am used to ignorant people saying cruel and ignorant things, but I read this site almost every day and that last paragraph is the kind of lazy low blow that not only encourages me to stop visiting this site, but aligns itself pretty well with the same attitude of broad...

Escape to the Movies: Super 8

I love the visual gag with the lens flare, but you should have let it go unsaid until the end. Drawing attention to comedy makes it less funny. Otherwise, another entire review that I agree with Bob almost 100% on. This is becoming a scary trend. My review on my site said most of the same...

Escape to the Movies: X-Men: First Class

Bob, I could not agree with you more. In fact, my own web site granted this film just about the same level of praise as you did. Glad to see we sync up on this one - definitely worth seeing.

    The Big Picture: Arch-Villains

Bob makes a lot of good points here. I for one am constantly preaching the value of personal responsibility, and its good to hear someone finally come out and say that parents, not corporate mascots, are responsible for helping kids make the right choice when it comes to food and lifestyle...

Escape to the Movies: The Hangover 2

Saw this movie to review on my own site, and I gotta say, if you liked the first one, stay the hell away from this one. It retroactively made me like the first one less.

    The Big Picture: The Numbers

Also, I'm not going to be so bold as to call Movie Bob a journalist, but it would still be nice if he would source some of his claims. He states that "it is widely believed" that Scott Pilgrim's poor BO numbers are to blame for killing At the Mountains of Madness, but makes no attempt to give...

    The Big Picture: The Numbers

Thank you for your support. It's good to know my little rant is not falling on completely deaf ears.

    The Big Picture: The Numbers

But Scott Pilgrim was ostensibly built around 7 boss fights. If you're looking for action, there it is... too bad all of these were brief, unengaged, and had no emotional weight behind them.
