Jimquisition: Lazy, Boring, Ordinary, Art Games

    1) Different people have different preferences. Don't get mad about it. 2) Even if Dear Esther was flawed (and I'm not saying it was), if you enjoy art games and want to see further development of the genre you still must support developers by buying their games.

    Poll: Hairy Ladies

Honestly, I don't expect anyone to shave on a regular basis. It's been largely a construct of advertising since the turn of the last century.

    Recommend me a graphics card.

I'd agree with the previous posts that waiting is the best choice. It would be worth checking into the wattage of your power supply. Ensure that you have the recommended minimum wattage for any card you buy.

    Computer newbie seeks advice

It will play everything. Ask your best friends to see if any have experience building (if you're willing to learn, it's worth knowing exactly how your computer works).

    Your zombie survival plan

Travel on land is dangerous. The best life for survival is that of a pirate. I'd immediately steal the largest, fully equipped sail boat in a local marina (I've worked for years as a sailing instructor). I would moor in sheltered bays in remote areas of fresh water, I would fish frequently and...

    First Person: Skyrim is Soulless

You've been mislead by your own expectations. Skyrim is a harsh, unforgiving land, and the people are reacting just as you would expect them to. In the sack of Whiterun, the shopkeepers comment that they didn't really care who was in control. The entire war is trivial to most people living in...

What Graphics Card Should I Get?

Just a couple suggestions: Power supply: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371016 GPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130571 I skimmed through the reviews, and they both look solid.

This seems like a classic case of hydroencephalopathy, a condition in which excess fluid builds up around the brain. It's easy to treat today with a shunt.

Richard Garriott's Crazy Awesome Mansion Up For Sale

Am I the only one here thinking how awfully ugly this house is? The architecture and decor are just horrendous. Edited: One other person actually has taste.

Poll: Alienware or Republic of Gamers?

The "gaming laptop" should be put to death. If you're a college student, use your current laptop as a netbook, and purchase a desktop. You'll be glad you did so in three years. If you know what boolean algebra is, build your own desktop.

Help an ignorant build a new PC?

If you don't know what to buy, I highly recommend that you find a friend who can help you select hardware and assemble the PC in person. 90% of the time, I can guarantee that you will have an issue, and that issue will require troubleshooting. It can be very rewarding to build a computer, but...

Confession time: Games you are ashamed to have played.

My guilty pleasure is Project Diva 2, part of the series of japanese rhythm games made for the vocaloid, Hatsune Miku. I'll note that one of the features of the game is unlocking costumes, and having the option to visit Miku's room. You can have her do different things, and most importantly...
