Really this seems the only way they can really go without running the franchise into the ground. The question of whether or not they will is another matter.
Probably would have worked better as a pulpy mass up of 1980's horror movies rather than a "serious" horror movie.
Throw in some humour, like the character slams a door in the baddie's face and you might have a game that atleast has a good idea going for it.
So while Marvel is going for the silver/bronze age of comics, DC seems set to go for the Dark Age of comics?

of course but more importantly the suggests the movies may be following the EU idea of the empire continuing. Meaning that we may be able to fit certain fan favourite concepts/storylines back into canon with a bit of work around
actually I do have to say, looks nice.

1. Possible, though I suspect its more likely going to be stealing from Star Wars Legacy. Sets up a conflict for the empire to be still doing stuff, has a Sith bad guy. I mean that rumour about Jedi hunter a while ago (probably mainly false) sounds a little like the opening to Legacy.
