Sword Coast Legends Hands On: Enter the Dungeon

I remember using the DM feature in games like Vampire Redemption; typically every game I joined the ST would inevitably get pissy at one or all of the players and spawn an invulnerable creature and maul us to death. I think it would be nice to introduce some kind of system to stop DMs from just...

Crimson Dragon Slayer Review - Roleplaying In The Grim 1980s

I helped playtest CDS and I'm currently writing a scenario for it so its fantastic to see its made its way to the Escapist. If you're looking for content to run with, I highly recommend Venger Santanis' other work, "The Islands of the Purple Haunted Putresence". Think "Heavy Metal", its...

Smaller Devs Abused By Steam's "No Questions Asked" Refund Policy

Its a shame that the 2 weeks bit is in there, I have a ton of games in my Steam library that have like 10-15 mins play time then I never went near again.

Forza Motorsport 6 Details Leaked by Xbox Japan

Im still heavily enjoying Forza Horizon 2 (prefer the arcade racing feel) but I always have to dip into each Forza core title when they come out, its always such a lovely experience. I'm more pumped for news on the next Need for Speed though.

8 of the Most Awesome Platformers Ever Made

Bubsy Bobcat was fairly instrumental back in the day and as platformers went it was pretty decent! "What could possibly go wrong?"

The Great Old Ones Return: Greg Stafford Is Now Chaosium President

Hopefully this will speed up the arrival of the 7th ed in dead-tree version!

The Witcher 3 Xbox Owners Ironically Locked Out Game Due to DRM Issues

It only looks to be a blow against CDPR up until the second last paragraph of the article when you explain they didn't implement it.

New Trailer For Rise Of The Tomb Raider May Cause Chills

You can spot the QTEs at any rate. Cynicism aside, I'll be buying it. I was quite impressed with the reboot so I have high hopes that they'll have polished off some of the rough edges this time round.

The Bard's Tale IV Kickstarter Campaign Launching In June

Just to clarify, thats not a "true" Bards Tale game (though I prefer it over the previous ones), with this new one likely to be a bit more serious in tone. Coin and Cleavage was very adorable in its humour, I'd love to see a new sequel to that even if it was just for more songs!

Hit RPG Apocalypse World is Getting a Second Edition

AW is, somehow, one of these games I've never had a chance to play. Keep meaning too but with a bit of luck the 2nd ed release will spell some games running at the local club to try.

Mars Attacks GURPS! The Official Alien Invasion RPG Is Underway

At! At! At-at-at! Could be amusing for a one-shot change I guess!

The Next Assassin's Creed is Set in 19th Century London

To be fair swordplay is still effective today assuming the Assassin is trained to a high level with the sword, has cover to hand, and has good reflex skills (which the assumption is). Obviously he'd struggle if he had a few people closing the gap on him in an open field, all firing machine guns...

Firefly Role-Playing Game Core Book Review - Into the Black

I've ran close to 50 episodes of Firefly (3 seasons and numerous one-shots) with great success. The system is easy to pick up and intuitive and whenever I offer it at the local club I typically get oversubscribed. My biggest complaint with the book is that the style of writing is in that of...

Werewolf: The Forsaken 2nd Edition Review - The Wolf Must Hunt

I tried making the shift to nWoD a few times, but I find the system's background so sparse compared to oWoD. Conversely, I have a few friends who had never played an oWoD game but had played nWoD tell me that they found oWoD too complicated. Been eagerly waiting for this version to come out...

Mobile Game Does Not Commute Sells Checkpoints In Paid Version

Which is odd because I assumed the article at first was having a pop at paywalls going by the headline, which is why I was surprised to see the article take a different direction. It does quickly become an advert though... ...which led me to downloading it. Its a good little timesink game I...
