I'd personally suggest all of Dawn of War except for Soulstorm. It's easily the weakest expansion of the lot.
Warcraft 3 is still pretty good a worth a look as is Company of Heroes.
Pilotwings 64, particularly with the birdman suit, zooming over the map felt wonderfully free. Plus it's a fun game where the point is flying unlike most that you've mentioned, but I think it could be what you're looking for.
