I think I'm gonna take the Dark Souls plunge, it seems like once given the chance most people love it. I could definitely go for something different and rewarding.
I thought Skyrim was great, but it didn't feel all that rewarding to me. It looks like I'm gonna have to be up the challenge...
Money's tight, but I'm taking the LSAT in two weeks and I wanna snag a game afterwards to help with the recovery. I can really only afford one, and the above three have all been out for a bit so if you have a solid opinion on any or all of them do tell. Thanks.
I'm also frustrated with the copy/paste mechanic of videogames (and most media nowadays). Thogh I don't think that's a defining characteristic of postmodernism more than it is a representation of our hyper-consumerist culture.
A central element of postmodernism is the pastiche (or blending)...
SOOOO excited for Skyrim!
3 things:
1: Spells: they seem more visceral in Skyrim. Love that! However, will they actually LOOK more powerful the higher your skill is. In Oblivion, a 5 damage pt fire spell looked (that lame little fireball) exactly the same as mastery level 100 dp fire...
Ok, I get where you're coming from. I always considered a dichotomny to denote only two options but without "all of the above" your hand is kind of forced.

Anyway, I'm in agreement w/ the OP. I think improved voice acting will make the game that much more immersive and ultimately have the biggest impact. The wooden/same-ey voice acting of Oblivion took me out of the world a bit.
Having not played Reach I understand the campaign is short--but vaired.
Honestly, I'd rather trade a short but varied experience than a long, repetitive one. Many games have nailed the long campaign succesfully. But with it's fourth game in less than 10 years that's probably pretty tough...
I'm not interested in a single one of those games. Sorry, but I'm ot sure if it's me, or the industry but I really can't get into gaming anymore.
Starcraft 2 has gotten as close as anything but other than that I've been completely removed from gaming and nothing on the horizon looks to...
UHHH false...Okay I get that he's a "professional" film critic and he should know more about movies than us casual fans.
But the original trilogy warrants no companion to Twilight. Yes, the prequels diminished the repuation of the originals. But, Twilight is a joke...you know what, fuck...
You know I havent been thin hyped for a game since...Starcraft 2. But seriously I trust in Bungie (still a great dev IMO-- and I've played them all) that I'll be playing Reach for a while.
