    Jimquisition: The 100% Objective Review

I only used this statement to point out that by not letting the time being portrayed accurately you can end up with lots of unfortunate implications, even more so than by doing research on the subject.

    Jimquisition: The 100% Objective Review

Actually, video games based on Greece kind of suffer from lots of unfortunate implications, especially misogyny. Notice how much Japanese video games based on Greek mythology feature goddesses taken hostage (think of Athena in the game Altered Beast) that would be able to take care of themselves...

    Jimquisition: The 100% Objective Review

You know, no matter how bad you think this week's Jimquisition was, you could accredit him one thing, that is that he managed to start a debate. A debate that is about how game reviews should look like. More specifically: Whether a video game review should be subjective or not. Personally, I...

    Jimquisition: The 100% Objective Review

While I would love to agree with your opinion I find your example to be flawed. In your example you noted that they are having different experiences fighting an enemy, but one thing their opinion is not going to diverge upon is the behavior and strength of that particular enemy. As long as...

    Jimquisition: The 100% Objective Review

I like the comment, but I disagree with the "personal ideology" part. One of the review styles of my all-time favorite video game reviewer (Dr. Sparkle) is to explain out his personal ideology on the game and then explaining why he exactly holds that personal ideology in very elaborate detail...

Jimquisition: Ubisoft Talks Bollocks About Framerate And Resolution

You probably mean the worst company in France. It would probably never obtain that title, since French probably would rather give that honour to Infogrames (which nowadays hides under Atari's brand label to avoid brand-exposure, it is that bad). Mainly because they are well-known there for...

Jimquisition: It's Not A Video Game!

I think there is a problem with your statement, since "Choose Your Own Adventure Books" are not on a video device. Which cancels them out of the definition entirely. They actually require interaction through video motion in order to continue, which is why I consider them to be video games.

Jimquisition: It's Not A Video Game!

I hope you realize that the game was released in Japan and that every single early Japanese visual novel took direct inspiration from this game, right down to using a Western art style instead of an Asian one (and thus have similar gameplay as well). So why would visual novels be somehow...

Jimquisition: It's Not A Video Game!

All of it is mainly interaction with the environment. Though through interaction you would get clues for a certain puzzle to solve. It is all in a similar vein to cluedo.

Jimquisition: It's Not A Video Game!

Just wonder though, would you consider Mystery House to be a video game?

Jimquisition: The King of Crap Steam Publishers

There actually exists an official crap games contest. Here it is: http://csscgc2013.blogspot.co.uk/ . I heard that a similar one exists on the Commodore 64, but they probably do not have an official site. Actually, this reminds me of something rather cool. What if somebody would make an...

Jimquisition: Review Embargoes And Why They're Okay Sometimes

It is so hilarious that professional game reviewers get pressured to get their reviews out before the game is even released due to competition, since internet reviewers (such as him: https://www.youtube.com/user/Chrontendo ) can talk about games that were released 25 years earlier and can wait...

Jimquisition: Rise Of The Exclusivity Wars

OK: Criminal stuff the video game industry is not doing (right now): 1: Underpaying its employees: People who work at the video game industry gain around 2000$ per month. 2: Create wars to create demand: For obvious reasons. 3: Avoiding government taxes with bribery: Again, for obvious...

Jimquisition: Rise Of The Exclusivity Wars

j Nintendo already announced the cut of online functions for the wii in late may 2014. I however have to admit that you can still use some of the channels that do not require an online function (anymore). (I love the fact that nintendo still gave the wii a slew of Neo Geo titles by the end...

    Jimquisition: EA Access ... Denied

I do not think that that business model will however make the AAA paradise happen if the CEO's truly are control freaks (I doubt that they truly are since otherwise they would be trying to pay the programming team as little as possible, going as far as to hiring kids that ask like 5$ per product...
