    Trends In Gaming You Hate.

Arg, you beat me to it! To the OP: I'm sorry you didn't like Spec Ops, but it was not trying to be "art" so that you can shoehorn it into a "pretentious games as art" box to call it a trend. (Although I'm not addressing the argument that all creative works are art; I know that you are trying...

    Useless team mates

These are all good, but the Flash is so much more than just a quick transport. Get some C4 and a Flash and you have yourself a weapon of mass destruction. Attach the C4 to the Flash then charge it towards a deployed Sunderer and leap off at the last moment and hit the remote detonator...

    Useless team mates

Planetside 2 - anyone who really can't control an aircraft or vehicle. There is nothing worse than being flipped over by an aircraft of your own faction colliding with you and either killing you outright or flipping you over and spinning you out of control near a structure. Or, tank...

Best Steam deal you've snagged so far?

I picked up Bioshock cheaply, as well as Skyrim for 50% off - for the enjoyment I have got out of it so far it was well worth that price. The best Steam deal I ever got was last year though, where Fallout: New Vegas was $5. The cost per unit time on that one is just crazy. Such a fantastic game.

Opinions on Planetside 2 being Pay to Win or not?

That's why you have to love and protect your engineers. My favoured role in an on-foot assault is as an engie - rep the AA max's waddling along, keep the fun bus topped up, rep any tanks that keep poking their heads out to shoot and then crucially drop ammo boxes at key points on the push...

Most Imbalanced Multiplayer You Have Played

Red Alert, when they added the "Yuri's Revenge" expansion. Yuri's faction was just unbalanced - he had units that could permanently mind control yours (instant cast, proximity activated), could build an overpowered medium tank (the Lasher) that was not only better than any other thing anyone...

    Is Dungeon Defenders any good?

I never actually use the "top down RTS" view that he has, although it is interesting to see. He's much more effective dashing up to chokepoints, going into "phase mode" and applying upgrades or repairs without the possibility of being damaged. With full mana and a reasonable level he can keep a...

    Is Dungeon Defenders any good?

It is good fun, and the original game and original 4 classes are fun and challenging. The Summoner is *utterly broken* because he has his own defence units pool (well, it's shared across all summoners on the same map), that is separate from the rest of the defence unit pool, so it's just too...

    Submerged "UFO" Cripples Nearby Electronics

A fiver says this is the start of a viral marketing campaign for some movie. That website is just too polished to look like it's legit but also to push the X Files angle. Have you ever seen the websites made by science research teams? I say this as one of those very scientists - there's a...

Tell me about water cooling: pros, cons, why?

The fragility of the setup is something I hadn't considered. Are we talking about breaking a component off a board, or just springing leaks? It doesn't look like the hoses used are all that flexible, so does it stress the parts (like excessively flexing the GPU board in the PCI slot)?

Tell me about water cooling: pros, cons, why?

I was reading the huge "choose between these two top-tier GPUs for me for my i3 machine" thread and the topic of water cooling came up so I thought I'd spin out another thread. Since I have no experience with it in a computing sense I thought I'd ask those who do. If you do water cool, why...

    Caught having sex

Train conductor, late night, large reflective train window - he had a front row seat. Still he didn't seem too troubled by it so we finished up before he came to check our tickets. The train was deserted, except for him I suppose, but we didn't think of that.

    Worst Scam Attempt Experiances

Oh I forgot about Eve, but then I figure nothing is really more a scam than anything else since the entire premise of the game is "trust no one". System chat: "Offering help to newbie mission runners" "Sweet, I need help" "ok, fleet with me" *warp to newbie, blow up ship, loot gear...

    Worst Scam Attempt Experiances

WoW used to be full of people who would troll for gold - they'd hang around in the major cities and keep bugging you by opening trade windows and begging for gold "for training". Sometimes if I was just chatting with guild mates waiting for a raid or something I would enthusiastically say...

How I would create a game to troll 90% of FPS players

When the Chief gets inverted in the training level of Halo I exclaimed "Argh! my brain! Switch it back! The other way!" Edit: I believe that the OP's post accurately describes old school FPS games, from UT to Quake III, or even Counterstrike.
