I don't know why, but the idea of Root being incurably ill makes me genuinely sad. When Root only had one arm and was coated in blood, that was fine, but being incurably blind and rotting makes me sad. But then I remember, Dorf sounds funny, and all is well.

I would offer to try and be a custodian, but my experience with Dwarf Fortress is roughly comparable to James Murdoch's experience with ethical reporting practices. I second the idea of passing it to Root, and the elf-berating such an act would cause.
