Assassin's Creed IV: Freedom Cry Screens, Launch Trailer Revealed

That sounds like enough concept for a full game, or at least a heftier DLC like blood dragon. Can't help but feel that a story like this would be too rushed in 4 hours.

    Poll: Sport games!

The day they make a decent rugby union game I will be very happy.

The Big Picture: Schlocktober 2012: Orca

OK everyone can stop having the 'whale vs dolphin' argument now. The real reason orcas are called 'killer whales' is because they kill whales for food. The name was originally 'whale killer,' but it got flipped around at some point and the change stuck.

I'm starting to hate the internet

Please don't destroy it, I rely quite heavily on the internet for research (what with it being the greatest repository of human knowledge in history and all).

So... Uh... What the hell, Australia?!?!

Not the same situation at all. The things americans get stick for are generally the beliefs of a large number of your people (as in close to or more than 50%) or the actions of your elected officials. You know, the people who were voted for by a majority of their constituents. This is a few...

Valve pursued by EA for over a possible $1 billion

The future of gaming? I'd say it's the present of gaming.

The Atrocities of Your National Heritage... This is a Fun Thread! :D

I'm British, you all know what my ancestors did so I won't rehash what others have said. Special shout out to the opium wars though, that was a classic bit of atrocity-ing.

Rumor: British Piracy Rates Unaffected by Pirate Bay Ban

If you type 'pirate bay' into google UK, the third link you get is 'unblocked pirate bay.' Doesn't exactly take a genius to get around the ban.

So Dragon Age 3.... No Pressure?

Ignoring the ending, ME3 was a spectacularly good game; probably one of my favourites of all time. Bioware is still a great developer and I will be watching DA3 with interest.

Poll: Was this police shooting justified in your opinion? (Graphic)

I think the shooting was justified- the guy was clearly about to bash the officer's head in. The question on my mind is: why shoot him more than once? One shot would have incapacitated him completely and removed the danger, but there is at least some chance of surgery saving his life (not huge...

Sherlock Holmes Investigating Star Trek 2

There was no backlash, backlashes against homosexuality in the UK are pretty rare (the torchwood backlash was against the explicit sex scenes, not the homosexuality). I think the point moffat was making was that sherlock is pretty much asexual, not that he was gay- he's interested in Irene Adler...

Sherlock Holmes Investigating Star Trek 2

The miniseries was the series. That's british TV for you- often fantastic, but 6 hours per series is about all you can hope for. There's a new 3-part series on now though, and its very popular (11 million watched the last episode out of a population of 63 million)so they'll keep making more...

Poll: What medium do you plan to play mass effect 3?

My character is on PS3 and I prefer analogue controls anyway- wasd and mouse never felt quite right to me for some reason.

    Poll: The greatest Captain

Picard is great, but I have to go with Sisko on this one. Why? This: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IjvYiSDJujA Everyone who hasn't watched Deep Space Nine, WATCH IT NOW. It's easily my favourite of the various star trek series, and the fact that bloody voyager is beating it on this poll is...
