That's... wow. I heard there were some egregious bugs like axes making gunfire noises and zombies coming from the floor, but apperantly even with the influx of free-world zombie games, DayZ stands out. Respect. (But the reddit thread makes me pull my hair out. An alpha is just that - alpha...

Bastion surprised me in this aspect. I did not play many indie games and was generally very sceptical of indie games, since I considered it to be close to impossible for them to be so polished (due to lack of experience of the devs and the lack of funds). Bastion completely blew me away...

Bioshock and Bioshock Infinite are standoffs and can be played in any order you want. BI had more action-y gameplay, whereas Bioshock had absolutely amazing atmosphere and a more survivalist note. I recommend skipping Bioshock 2 altogether, unless you really can't get enough of Rapture.

DmC Devil May Cry is my favourite game this year and I basically loved everything about it. Amazing graphics and beautiful level design, snappy combat, great music and good writing (you can argue about it, but I still enjoyed it very much). Mars: War Logs. Nobody heard about, average...

The Stalker Complete updates graphics, weather effects and many other smaller things. You gotta have this mod installed for Shadow of Chernobyl.

Luck is mostly useless, although some find it fun to keep winning in casinos until they kick you out. Speach is helpful and my favourite skill, but do spend some points on Small Guns. You will inevitably forced to fight a lot of monsters and people.

Mass Effect 3. I was utterly hyped for almost over a year and then I played it. I didn't hate it. What I did feel was mild confusion and a vague sense of disappointment. Then, it went from vague to actual disappontment. I'm still sad that it did not fullfil my expectations. Guild Wars 2...

I was pleasantly surprised how good it was. I have done only three cities so far and died very soon after, but due to carry-overs it felt rather satisfying and fun. Honestly, I am very impressed.

Just wondering, why did you guys post the launch trailer AFTER the review? The trailer's been out for some time now... Still, not complaining. The trailer is beautifully made. (Is that Kaidan's voice actor which I hear..? ) As for the game, I hope the voice-acting and visuals may be good...

God, I really hate sharks and deep water in video games. Far Cry 3 and Gothic were the worst offenders. I had nightmare because of this stuff. Made me actually understand how people with arachnophobia might feel fighting the endless hordes of giant spiders in games.

I can't believe that nobody suggested Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas. It's very atmospheric games and the style often reminded me of Bioshock, not even mentioning the shared taste in music. You can buy both games right on Steam for 5 bucks each, but only during Halloween sale. Seriously...
