Wow, this brings me back to the days of my Elf Only Inn-style Roleplaying. Lots of drama, lots of god-moding newbies. Sometimes, though, I miss those days...

After several years of no roleplaying, I joined an online campaign using RPTools and Ventrilo. It's not perfect, but the DM is fantastic and makes the most out of the mediums we use. He becomes a one-man sound effects board, since we can't actually see him making all kinds of noises it actually...

Make it happen, or find someone who will. At the very least, make a design document.

First one to come to mind would be Final Fantasy 7, when Nanaki and co. are prowling around the overgrown Midgar.

I think a lot of people are confusing 'underrated' with 'underexposed.' One of my favorite games, which hasn't had much love, would be Legacy of Kain: Defiance. Amazing story along with solid level design, with fun combat.

However much I enjoyed the thrashing he gave Sonic Unleashed, I'm not sure I have a favorite. Though the beginning of Fallout 3 had me laughing pretty hard.

A "Huh" seemed like a good idea at the time, considering I was looking for a way to textualize my ponderings. It is mere coincidence that the esteemed poster above my first started his in a strikingly similar fashion. =þ

This was a great read for me, because I normally have no care for things that remind me of the past. I'm not a picture taker. I don't get petty souvenirs on trips. But I do save a lot of the games I've played over the years, for exactly the reasons listed. The shadows of memories surface...

For me, it was the shin-kicking combat of EVE that drove me away. Had combat been something more tactical or skill-based, I probably would still be playing it. Perhaps Battlestar Galactica has set my standard too high for how space combat should be.

Sure they do. They just stay there and beat up on one another until the next space-worthy Waaagh! comes along. And by then, they're big and tough.
