    Poll: Henry Cavill is Geralt

Or at least do this to another character, one whose ancestry doesn't matter much. Say, possibly Dandelion (if only to have him played by Donald Glover), or to pick a lesser change, make Yennefer brownish-skinned, say Middle-Eastern, since she's dark-haired and dark-eyed. Triss, of course, has to...

    Poll: Henry Cavill is Geralt

That will be the excuse if the show flops big time. It's the "new all female" Ghostbusters all over again - also happened with other movies, games and the like, of course.

World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth

Yeah, I don't play WOW on regular basis anymore, play it like a few weeks a year, play LOTRO a month/year as well, more or less - LOTRO's gameplay and slow pace of fights are definitely highly frustrating when you've played enough WOW before - saying this as a Tolkien / LOTR near-fanboy. That...

Please help an old and starving gamer

Nethack... reminds me it's been ages since I've played Moria and Angmar. Good times. I'll nominate: - Planescape Torment if you're into RPG - Max Payne 1/2 if you're into shooters that are a bit more than mere shooters (ok, a lot more) - To the Moon since it's very short and great story -...

A new Star Wars happened, and opinions are released upon us like nibbling hounds demanding biscuits

I'll tell that to my feminist female acquaintances who've been using it for more than 20 years online. To be fair, one could say that Luke wasn't far from a Mary Sue back in A New Hope - you need at least Empire to redeem his character arc, otherwise he's just a trope -, and Poe at times has...

And - as just said above me - she wasn't exactly a Mary Sue either. More balanced character than Rey, definitely. Not due to the actresses but to the writing. Odds are, those writers could write a terrible Gary Sue under the "right" circumstances.

Games you've bought that you can't bring yourself to play

I've plenty of games in my backlog, though I plan to play them all if I can. That said, a few games I didn't finish. Red Alert / Tiberian Sun for instance. It's just that I feel their gameplay is so inferior compared to Starcraft that I never managed to play more than 5 missions from each game...

And thus World of Warcraft Legion draws to a close...

The Void Lords' mere existence is a major retcon. Remember, originally, the Pantheon is the ultimate power in the Universe, Titans are unbeatable massive powers. Old Gods are obviously way below them in power, for a starter. Pantheon only gets beaten at some point because Sargeras turns, and...

And there's also that little detail of what happens to Azeroth at the end ;)

Games you play for the story and almost nothing else

To the Moon and Planescape Torment come quite close to this.

When was the last time you couldn't finish a game cause it was too difficult?

I enjoyed a lot Syndicate back in the 1990s. I got Syndicate Plus a few years ago on GOG, so re-played Syndicate recently, and then went on to try Syndicate - American Revolt, the expansion. Every single mission seems to be a nightmare and I didn't even bother to finish even one - on the other...

8 DLCs and Expansions that Were Worth the Money

This :) And as mentioned above, Starcraft's Brood War was awesome, so big (like WC III Frozen Throne) that it's hard to consider it an expansion, compared to what they have become nowadays. And indeed Morrowind's Bloodmoon was awesome. Snow, blizzard, some big icecap. The atmosphere and...

There's Now Credible Evidence of Alien Intelligence - But Are We Ready For It?"

That's pretty much what Arthur C Clarke wrote in 2001. People are wholly unprepared to even learn of this. On the other hand, even if I'm sure there would be violent reactions from some religious nuts, it would also mean their religious nuttiness would only last a generation. After the initial...
