I felt the same about Skyrim as pretty much all Bethesda games. A huge beautiful world full of things to do...except most of it bored me to tears. A prime example of quantity over quality. Meh combat, the same character models, the same voice actors who deliver lines with as much enthusiasm...

I'll take an overwhelmingly negative forum over a complacent happy-clappy place any day. If you want a place to see a gaming world where everything is peachy simply head over to Ign any of the their similar flash-ad brethren where they will validate the pure awesomeness of gaming.

The Witcher 2. Although it's not exactly the same, the combat is challenging, the enemies don't politely wait their turn to attack you like in most modern games, and you can't cancel your attacks once you've committed so you have to think about your attacks or you'll get destroyed.

Although I wouldn't say it's a 'bad' game, LA Noire was a huge disappointment. Such a cool setting and concept, but let down by deceptively shallow gameplay and few options to actually use your brain. A sequel with more scope for player agency and making decisions would be amazing.
