    Names Too Generic/Complex?

Names like Tlelaixu, Bene Gesserit or Kwisath Hadechacha for me are evocative names for epic forces in an awesome universe. Then again, names like Paul or Jessica, or even a generic word like alien remind me of great works, so an original name is not necessary for a story to be memorable.

Over 1,800 Gaming Professionals Condemn Hate Speech in Open Letter

Sorry for barging in, this may be a big mistake on my part. I think you're making rather contrived leaps of logic there. Whats being referred to as "press" here are a group of people who use written and visual media to collect and convey information, for which they must have specific skills...

Gamer Girl Jayd3Fox Bullied off web by Feminist

If this harassment actually happened then you've just now exposed this girl so she can get some more. You might be putting her in danger just to prove your point, which is despicable, no different than journalists spreading the detailed life of suicidal maniacs while spawning more of these in...

Coming Soon To WoW's World's End Tavern: Robin Williams - Update

It is tasteless, it takes just a modicum of sense to tell that you shouldn't advertise the monument you're planning on building to honor the deceased on the day after he died, it's obvious they've never even met the guy, have some tact for the love of god.

Zero Punctuation: EarthBound - Not Your Typical JRPG

Don't be annoyed by such things dear, is not good for yours or anybody's health. Still, saying that earthbound is the closest to literature games will ever get is a silly thing nonetheless. Isn't literature just the art of writing in general? I assume you and the other guy meant books, which...

Uncivil War: Watch Dogs - The Car-Clothing Coordination Carnage Contest!

Since everyone is being so positive and encouraging on this thread, I'll just go ahead and be the ghost of the feast by saying that I find the concept lazy, the banter forced, the contrast in personalities wasted, and... well the title music is awesome, but you should definitively work on those...

If You Are Going to Hate on a Game Company, Do It For the Right Reasons

"Hating some companies for the right's reasons" As opposed to the "left's" reasons... Am I right? I can't make that joke work though, can anyone help? Should I use "leftists" or maybe "right-wing"? I should know this, CAE exam in November. I bet Yahtzee could make that joke work, though..

The Big Picture: Leave Michael Bay Alone

Blaming Bay is just as easy as blaming the pigs, maybe you'll apologize to them in the future, or maybe not, because they represent a faceless, unaware mass. So I guess blaming them is even easier. And then counting yourself amongst the rubble, that's just a demagogic cherry to top off a lovely...

Game of Thrones Review: Just Enough Story to Get on with the Battle

I loved this episode, and the multi-thread constantly-moving-plot thing is what undermines this show in my opinion I wouldn't mind them slowing down more often.

X-Files Creator Chris Carter's The After Shows The Moment Civilization Dies

Ever wonder what it's like to realize the world is coming to an end? Yep Ever wonder what it's like to realize the world is coming to an end with bad acting and a mediocre budget? Yep

    The Indies Will Ruin Everything!

This is kind of off topic. Where I live the word niche refers to a place in the cemetery where graves are stacked on top of each other (we call them nichos). All these phrases and terms like "finding your niche", "niche audience", "niche-based market" have sort of an ominous tone for me. Kinda...

    Of Dragons & Ruined Cities

I didn't get any moral preaching from the article. I think it's just pointing out how popular culture had the need to raise the bar in terms of the scope of catastrophes. No one can deny that humans have a tendency to vicariously enjoy other people's suffering, even if they are fictional...

    Of Dragons & Ruined Cities

I always thought that art and culture are somewhat analogue to bodily excretions, I found that fecal matter has all the qualities, in the sense that it takes the author time, food and digestion to build it and release it into the world for everyone to appreciate it. But I guess phlegm is more...

Alan Turing Receives Royal Pardon For Homosexuality Conviction

Ahw, that's nice, some breadcrumbs of retrospective justice.
