Great Stories that deserve Better Games

How about a finished version of Xenogears? It was a really solid rpg for the first disk. If they'd only done that game right, we wouldn't have the even bigger mess that was Xenosaga.

What do you think about archaeology?

I wish it paid better than it did. I used to be an anthropology major until I found out I'd make less with a bachelor's degree than I would working at a grocery store.

How much of arguments and hatreds are built on misunderstanding?

Not as many as people who are intentionally misunderstanding others. A lot of people like to parrot arguments that they've heard from others (who probably made the argument better), and are claiming it as their own in an attempt to acquire some of that person's charisma. Very rarely will you...

Recommendation for a book like Silent Hill.

Phantoms, by Dean Koontz has a lot in common with first Silent hill game. I can't really recommend the book, without warning you that the 'twist' will ruin the experience. I've noticed it with Koontz that his books are always less than the sum of their parts. If you can read just the first two...

Xbone grinding discs? Grindgate? + Green Screen of Death

When will people learn to stop buying things! I've been playing with the same rock for decades, and it's just as nice as the day I found it in my shoe.

    Undue Entitlement: A Growing Issue?

Can we call it dissatisfaction instead of 'entitlement' ? I hate to argue for the "buyer beware" mentality, but nobody should be buying the game the day it comes out, without having researched it first, if they are that concerned about the money being spent on it. I'm not even going to...

Most Bizarre Errors You Constantly See

I'm pretty tired of seeing spaceships in tv, movies and videogames, almost exclusively being designed like water-faring vessels. It makes far more sense for spaceships to be designed like skyscrapers (with the engines at the bottom) using acceleration as the artificial gravity.

    Non-sustainable machines

Even will all of the things you've mentioned, it's still such a far cry from physical manufacturing and distribution as to render that claim indefensible. It's like that "sometimes mice get killed by vegetable farmers" argument used against vegans. It's also worth mentioning that factory...

What was the most satisfying weapon you've used in a game?

My favorites, in no particular order: 1) I actually managed to disturb my horror-movie-consuming wife, from the awful sounds of men's screams, with an acidic shotgun in Borderlands. 2) Also satisfying, the upgraded shotgun in Resident Evil 2 (that one puts bullet holes in the screen...

My computer can't find steam, but it's right there, in the steam folder!

    favorite children's novel

Currently Neil Gaiman's "The Graveyard Book". It's like Kipling's "The Jungle Book", except that it's in a graveyard and written by Neil Gaiman. I've read it to my son twice.

    Becoming more intelligent

Have you been to khanacademy.org ? It's like a self-education site that's completely free and junk. It's the only way I'm able to stay afloat in the math courses I've been taking.

Give Me Stuff to Draw, Please II

I'd like to see some Megaman characters via the Protomen. Their distopian take on The Megaman franchise would look right at home in your art style

    free will

Free will vs cause-and-effect isn't the argument. It's Free will vs. Fate. Even Christians deny the existence of fate (on the basis that without free will, you would be unable to damn/redeem your soul). People trying to sell you on fate are gypsies, and not to be trusted. The capacity for the...

    The Big Bang Theory

I don't disagree that Frasier and Becker are certainly exceptional examples of standard sitcom fair. However, rather than admit that my "universal" statement as not being "universal", I'd much rather make the claim that those two exceptional examples are too exceptional to be labelled as merely...
