I think a big problem on roleplay PW servers in NWN is that roleplayers take themselves waay to serious. The worst is when the admin have a very fixed and rigid viewpoint as well...more or less trying to consolidate the server to just the players that they mostly would like to have there...which...
Actually that is not true. I think the ratio is like 1 to 3 ... in favor of the older game.
If we would to compare the two games like 2 years after their release it would be more like 1 to 20.
So no...NWN2 will never come close to NWN1 in amount of players, builders or custom content...
Actually...when I come to think about it some more...Steam seems to be very much aimed towards shooter games...and also many are Valve games.
Still...I don't see why not and it is a really good idea which also should have been done a long time ago. I put the question to Steam now.

Some people mentioned Baldur's Gate and such. Naturally classics and really great games...but NWN1 was the one that brought us multiplayer and the ability to create.
No game still today can boost being a pen and paper rolepalying adaption for computer games.
