As a marketer, I don't have any emotions, and that makes me very sad.

    Zero Punctuation: Amy

Now nobody can complain that Yahtzee has a bias towards survival horror or indie games next time he rips apart an AAA title.

Minecraft Plugin Lets Players Build With Portals

:/ I thought the mod looked incredibly ugly and, ridiculous as it may be to say this in relation to a game revolving around instant teleportation, totally unrealistic. The plug-in might be less "visually accurate", but it looks like something I'd actually consider playing. EDIT: To clarify...

    Zero Punctuation: Two Worlds II

Woah. You win the grand prize for most ridiculously stretched definition of hipster of all time. I thought the word had already lost all meaning and value, but you just went and sucked the last little dregs of life out of it right there.

    What if We Leveled Backwards?!

This idea is excellent, but not, I believe, perfect. I think a more workable arc would be start mid-level, with a moderate array of skills, get more and more skills and become the highest level at around the mid-game. THEN the player's power level starts descending.

    Trailers: Bulletstorm Demo Trailer

Wow. This looks familiar. I especially liked the bit where Grizzled Marine #230894b locked 'n' loaded his gun in response to a hologram. Finally, an intelligent protagonist. The only thing that could possibly save this game is if the skillshots are actually difficult and fun to pull off...

    Molyneux's Unfocused Innovation

Dungeons is coming out soon... :D This'll be a proper RTS/Management Dungeon Keeper-like, if the promo videos are anything to go by. Effectively DKIII! None of this Overlord E-RPG nonsense.

    Poll: 0.999... = 1

Why is everyone seeming to argue that this infinity needs to be calculated in real time? By which I mean, people are saying "Sure, you can keep adding those 9s, but you'll never actually reach forever." It doesn't reach forever, true. It just is. It is infinite, right now. It won't...

I didn't pick that up. That's an interesting way of viewing this game.

    The Future is Still Retail

Hard copy games = Hardcover books. Worst case scenario. And people still buy Hardcovers, last I checked.

    Critical Miss: Doubleplusungood

As a utilitarian myself, I saw Brave New World as a stark warning about the dangers of that course. If you have to forcibly change what people enjoy to make more people happy, it's false and hollow. It makes the idea of 'preference' at the heart of Preference Utilitarianism meaningless. I...

    Critical Miss: An Appeal

Webcomic: Comparing the taking away of stupid, worthless, hateful images by a private corporation to a state-organised genocide is not cool. Comments: OMG! YEW CANT SAY THAT! COMPARING THE TAKING AWAY OF STUPID WORTHLESS HATEFUL IMAGES BY A PRIVATE CORPORATION TO A STATE-ORGANISED GENOCIDE IS...

Crytek: PC is being held back by consoles.

I guess Crytek are aptly named. Doh-ho-ho. Ugh. Sorry. They do have a good point, I think. Although I also think that consoles holding PCs back a little helps independent developers and people who can't afford the latest computers. Eh. I'm inclined to let the passage of time sort...

Serious frustratingly lack of ' RPG persistent world' games.

Guild Wars 2, when it comes out, is promising this sort of gameplay. Might be one to keep your eye on.

    Amnesia: The Dark Descent

I have to know, how does AtDD handle death? Because I found Bioshock pants-shittingly terrifying. Right up 'til I died and woke up about three meters away, and absolutely fine. Bullshit, tbh. Ruined the immersion for me. I had to complete it in a long series of no-death attempts to get...
