So a bit of a trailer came out. Is anyone else excited? I love his 007, though every single actor who's ever played him has had haters and fans, I don't think it's ever been all one sided.

But it's about time by now.

EDIT Is he a renegade again? How edgy and original...
Isn't every Bond a renegade? That guy is a complete jerkoff, is rude to his superiors, constantly mishandles government property, has strained world relations more than once, and NEVER sticks to the plan. If Bond was a real government operative he'd be fired or dead a hundred times over. That's what makes him fun to watch, kind of like how Indiana Jones is a terrible archaeologist.

If anything, Craig plays about the most straight-laced Bond in the series.

...holy shit.

Perhaps I am in the minority, but I LOVED Casino Royale and Daniel Craig. It was a great departure from the silliness that plagued the Roger Moore era and the later Pierce Brosnon films. While Quantum of Solace had a lot of problems (they had the actors write the script due to the writers strike a couple years back),I still had some fun with it.

This looks like more of what made Casino Royale so amazing. Plus its directed by Sam Mendes, which I think is an interesting choice. The cinematography in the trailer looked amazing as well

EDIT: If anyone cares, Roger Deakins is doing the cinematography. I am so psyched for this

Chill out man and ignore it if you don't like it.

QOS was absolutely a let-down, but Casino Royal was to me a stunning work because it remembered that all the sound and fury of the action will really never be as interesting as well developed characters working against a villain both believable and threatening.

I love that certain recent superhero movies (you all know what I'm talking about) have proved that you can do big colorful silly things without the film turning into complete fluff, as that gives me hope that one day someone can do a Bond that calls back to the exaggerated wildness of the earlier films without being stupid or overly ridiculous.

But for the time being Craig's more grounded approach works, not simply for the inherent realism but because, as understated as it might be, he's probably the most human Bond we've had yet. And even with all that and regardless of what came after, Casino had a real sense of style and intelligence that stopped it from being just another spy thriller. If Skyfall can carry on in it's lead, we'll definitely have a winner on our hands.

You should have seen what he did to 'M'

Yeah I'm looking forward to it, Casino Royale was the best of the series imo, sure Quantom of Solace was a let down, but this trailer looks intriguing.

Laughing at some of the comments slamming the film already in an attempt to appear cynical and aloof, they just sound childish :p

I liked Casino Royale, ironically it did have some parts that were funny (The bit where he smashes the guys car)

I don't really get while people dislike Daniel Craige, he's decent in my book. He's nothing special but he's definitly not bad.

The only thing that would annoy me at all about him is that he always looks like he's puckering his lips slightly.

This trailer is amazing. It's a little over a minute long, but you really get a sense of the scope of the film as well as how fucking beautiful the movie looks. It feels as if it has a certain veneer to it that makes it pop with in a smooth, glossy kind of way. God, it looks fantastic, and I am looking forward to it more than before.

No, he isn't. If anything, Mendes and company have gone out of their way to reassure everyone that they intend to keep the same modern feel that Casino Royale had while also including that same kind of smooth humor from the earlier films. If anything, they've tried to combine the best of both the old and new Bond films.

But if you doubt it'll be any better considering you have some real damn talent behind this, then, whatever, bru.

I don't have anything against Daniel Craig as an actor, my issue is that the last couple of bond movies have pretty much been generic action films. The gadgets and cheesyness which made James Bond great were missing.

If the new movie can bring back some of that old style bond feel, I will be a very happy man indeed, If it doesn't, I'll go watch a Bourne movie instead.
