It does always make me laugh when something is advertised as having health benefits "when used along with regular exercise and a balanced diet." (And I'm actually quoting a cereal ad I once saw.)

I'm pretty sure eating a stick of butter and a sugar cube would be healthy if you did it with regular exercise and a balanced diet.

At least, you might not notice quite how unhealthy they were?

Someone needs to introduce Erin to grocery delivery services, though that might be a challenge with the state of the door.

That brings back memories. Back in the 90s Just about every sugar-filled kids' cereal ad ended with "Part of your balanced breakfast". What a joke.

My favorite diabetes propaganda commercial was for Pops. Kids going into mind-twisting panic attacks - the likes which convince them that their life as they know it is completely over - because someone ate the perceived last bowl of their sugar-coated sugar-puffs.

I'VE GOTTA HAVE MAH POPS!!!!!! >=(

I think it was Lucky Charms that had a commercial saying "Part of this healthy breakfast" which included two oranges and a bagel.

If your cereal does not count as a starch, something has gone incredibly wrong somewhere.

I see that Rad was selling things to Calvin.

Also, very nice wording there Gunny, it almost managed to hide your sheer disgust at Erin's breakfast.

Fuck you, Pumpkin Spice Cereal! You ruined the flavors of Trix and Mint Berry Crunch during my childhood!

*ahem* I mean...

Can't you 69 most cereal brands? I mean, I'm sure that sex position's actually called "Balanced Breakfast"...

And to think, recently they started a promotion featuring Biz Markie telling us - in the form of a parody song based on Just A Friend - that there are 10 boxes of Lucky Charms out there somewhere that are filled with nothing but marshmallows. :3

Rad would make a great EULA writer.

Also a few supermarkets do home deliveries, so you could get fruit that way along with some Radical Crunch to complete that healthy and balanced breakfast.

That must have been a bum marketing deal for poor Rad. He didn't even get his picture on the box.

If you think about it, Rad reciting the advertisement from memory like a sales pitch was kinda creepy. What other 80s' motto does he have hard-wired in his little psyche? "Winners don't use drugs"? Oh, wait...

Of course winners don't use drugs! They play more video games to get that next sweet hit of WINNING!

If she has cash to spare to pay for delivered take-out and mail-ordered games, she can afford grocieries. But that raises another question: where is her money coming from? Does this Erin even have a job?

The kid in me loves the idea, but the adult in me is getting sick just thinking about it.

Eugh, same. I've reached the point where eating Mini-Wheats is as far as I'll go. My morning sweet tooth gets a fix, and I'll be damned if all that wheat hasn't kept me regular. I maybe splurge once per decade and end up flaying my gums on Cap'n Crunch and their bits of Sugary Torture Glass for a week, out of sheer nostalgia.

Then I regret it and switch back to Mini-Wheats.
