Christ, that's exactly what I'm like when watching other people play games.

Just with less military lingo and more profanity.

So is this what happened when a Master Cheif clone played a Halo like game?

Why they didn't get "teleported" in the game?
I guess Erin isn't high enough?

Ah, the double-edged sword of backseat gaming.

Very annoying when it happens to you, but very "gahdammit Alex for the last time, dodge LEFT when you see the boss charging that move; why do you keep pressing the attack button and hoping it works out, when you KNOW it doesn't, you dipstick??!" when you're not at the wheel.

That is how I judge whether or not I want to buy a game; watch people play it on youtube and see if I get mad at them for "playing it wrong."

Gunny, let the noob get gud by itself! I mean... thank you for the suggestions, but efficiency isn't critical for this mission. Dismissed!

It's like watching a Let's Play... only the commenter's at your place...

Other than that, Erin really should have used her bombs... and then tell Slippy to shut the fuck up...

I have a friend who I automatically back-seat game when I see him play some games. Once I watched him drive the Batmobile through one of the Riddler's obstacle courses and I said "No, don't drive into the- [CRUNCH][KABOOM!!!] crusher." Another time he showed me Assassin's Creed IV and I had to say "Just stop running around this block of buildings and go TO a mission marker already!" The less said about how he played the rebooted Tomb Raider, the better.

And I think they're going to set up another "go into a game" arc, maybe to take the piss out of "realistic" military shooters, a.k.a. "spunkgargleweewee".

Makes me glad I'm pretty much Gunny's polar opposite when backseat gaming is the order of the day. Gives me the chance to actually watch the game's mechanics unfold or nitpick at the graphics or the lore or, well, whatever works depending on the game.

However, when I have more of a hang on certain mechanics than my friends, a part of me has to bite down really hard on the urge to tell them what to do. Fallout 4's settlement mechanics were pretty irritating in that respect.

Friend: "Urgggh, Bugthesda can't code a tutorial to save their lives! WHAT DO I DO?!!!"
Me: "Look at the Workshop interface. It's all there."

*fifteen minutes later*

Friend: "HOW DO I ASSIGN PEOPLE TO RESOURCES?! OHMIGOD, JANKY GAME DESIGN!"
Me: *stealth facepalm* "Bottom of the interface. Point at a settler. Hit E to Command. Hit E while pointing at what you want them to take care of."

Those dreaded words: "Please give ME the controller".
Depending on the look that accompanies it's either fighting to the death or maximum loathing that ensues!!!

Also: hehehehe!!!

So, running with the "Fight Club" idea...

...If Erin gives Gunny the controller, than it is really her playing the game still with the Gunny persona in control. If Gunny ends up owning everyone (as he would be a natural), does this mean that Erin could secretly go Pro by allowing her multiple (game appropriate) personalities to take control of her during tournaments?

Wouldn't that involve leaving the house? Don't think Erin would be interested.

I really like Gunny's gradual creep onto the couch. You can say a lot with body language, especially "The controller is mine now."
