Alright, I'm not sure if anyone already notice and/or posted anything about this, but why the hell did Microsoft stop selling the 1-month subscription cards? Is it only in the area that I'm in or everywhere? Having to pay $20 for 3 months sort of sucks when I could of payed only about $9 bucks for 1 month to keep my money/time-card rotation for WoW and XBL in check.

I almost thought this was another advertisement threads. Good thing I didn't simply report and move on. That strategy is flawed!

You should be able to pay daily! I'd totally do that. So if I'm not in the mood for online one day I just don't pay.

Although that is kinda boring... I hate having to buy shit, even if it's simply XBL.

I got a free 1-month gold card each time I sent my 360 back for repairs. Maybe they're out of stock from having to give so many away.

HIYOOOOOO.

So, you want to pay $27 for 3-months instead...?

Unless I'm missing something, I can't see why this is a good idea.

They did? That sucks!

I don't play online, but I buy 1 month cards occasionally when a new game with heavy multiplayer feature comes a knocking

It's either:
"We are Microsoft, we have Halo, why would the nerds want to stop playing?"
Or:
"We are Microsoft, we don't have to make sense"

This is the thought process of Xbox headquarters
This kind of logic can apply to anything that people consider inconvenient.

For instance, because of the way my cable TV package is bundled I would pay more if I told my provider to drop the channels I don't watch. It's not because their attitude is "Raargghlglbl we are Foxtel, we don't have to make sense!". Granted, it doesn't make sense, but I'm sure there was a logical business decision behind it somewhere.

Wait, Xbox is made by Microsoft? and Halo? since when?

Maybe it's because longer subscriptions have a higher profit margin? Maybe it's because they were losing money on shorter cards, since far more people buy long term memberships? Maybe it's because they can sell month long subscriptions directly on XBL for a higher turnover that on store shelves?

Oh no, obviously they're just doing it for shits and giggles, or perhaps they're trying to resemble the kind of corporation an Austin Powers villain would run.

I've seen a few in my local shops. I also have three in my wallet.
Due to 3 RRoD's and MS giving me one months free each and every time they sent it back.

Can't you just pay up for a year in one go, that way you can forget about monthly payments. That or get a ps3 and let your gold live account die off like I decided to do.

They might make more money in the long term if someone paid for month after month with single month cards, but if people know they are going to be paying for an extended period of time, they'll probably buy a larger card instead.

They probably weren't making enough to warrant shipping the 1 month cards out to stores in the short term, so they stopped doing it.

Yes, but as I was saying, not enough people do so to justify the costs of shipping the things out to shops. It's the demand part Microsoft are reacting to.
