This morning at 10 central, a bet began. This bet is to see if one player can get 10,000 gamerscore in one week, using there existing gamertag. For details go to:

What do you think of this, do you think it can't be done, or maybe it is just a waste of time?

I'd say no problem, as there are tons of easy 1000 GP games, King Kong 3 hours to beat 1k, some airbender game 1k(in about 2 min) early sports games 1k a piece(seriously you can get 1k in one baseball game), so there is 5 k in on day of casual play

I think there are at least 10 games you can get 1000 points for if you just complete them once through. I know gamerscore makes no difference but it does add to your Live gamertag. It's part of what connects you to the community since it's part of what people know about you as soon as they "meet" you.

Or it's just a modern-day high-score. Either way, it's addictive.

Anyway, I think it's entirely possible.

For every point over 9000 he wins $1 up to $1000. For every point under 9000 he pays $1 up to $1000.

It's easy. Movie games give all their 1000 GP for just beating the game.

If they could do that, they win the Biggest Loser of all Time award from most of the gaming community.

Really, what's the deal with Gamerscore?

The problem is that he is using his current gamertag, so if he has already played those games then he can't get those achievments again.

That's the point, it would be cheating if he played the same games he's played again if he's already played them.

Anyway, I cheer him on! I wouldn't want to lose any money over a stupid gamerscore, I'd want to gain money over a stupid gamerscore!

W-hat? I got 5000 points in a week playing casually. I COULD DO THIS.

Its been roughly a month or two since I did that but I deleted my offline and went to replaying my games to get my gamerscore over or at least up to my previous score of 8888. First 2 days I'd shot my 3400 to 5300 next 5 days were burning through Tenchu Z (god damn repetative difficulty levels). I stopped when I started looking online for videogames I wanted for Christmas.

Just looked again, my gamerscore's 9000+. Seems I got a lot more gaming in then I thought. I'll have to go through my achievements to find out how long that took me.

Even if he just played movie games, he'd have to play a game every day.

...wait, he's got 8,000 already? Sounds like good revenge to me.

Avatar: The Burning Earth - free 1000 points right there.

If I've got a game I enjoy playing, I'll aim to get as many achievements as possible. I just can't bring myself to buy a game solely for achievements though.

But if someone did swing me something with a quick 1 grand in gamerpoints for a minute or two's effort, I'd probably do it.

Well it would suck if he lost, but I guess it might add to his e-Penis if he succeeded.

I think a better challenge would be to assign a random selection of games to two (or more) players and award a prize to whomever accumulates the most gamer points in a specified duration. Do you rack up the small numbers or take a gamble and go for the big payload?
They already did that (Sort of) with CoD4, where they raced to get all the achievements on that. He lost, as the other guy beat him to Mile High Club.

Anyway, I already knew about this. Go Geoff! You make that money from playing games obsessively!

And his wallet. Did you not hear about the $1000 bet?
