That little girl's so realistic about humanity's interest in space travel.

What's this about her just looking at pictures? Astronomers don't look in their telescopes 24/7 on the remote chance they'll just happen to spot a supernova. That's just not a realistic expectation. Countless discoveries have been made exactly that way, by looking at pictures taken of the nightsky, usually comparing them and noticing differences.
