Batman: Arkham Origins Season Pass Includes Five DLC Packs

Gamers who shell out $19.99 for Arkham Origins' Season Pass will be treated to two exclusive skins.

Batman: Arkham Origins is less than a month from its release date, which naturally means it's time to talk about DLC. Warner Bros. announced the Arkham Origins Season Pass today, a $19.99 bundle that will grant access to $30 worth of downloadable content. There are five DLC packs in all, one of which contains two skins exclusive to the Season Pass.

The fancy Season Pass-only skins are Gotham by Gaslight Batman and Brightest Day Batman, though they're just the tip of the superhero costume iceberg. There's also the New Millennium Skins Pack and Infinite Earth Skins Pack, both of which have a few new outfits so that our fashion-forward Dark Knight can stay on trend.

If you're more concerned about gameplay than costumes, the Season Pass will grant you some of that, too. "Arkham Origins Initiation" puts you in a pre-Batman Bruce Wayne's shoes, where he'll train in an unspecified number of new challenge maps. There's also one pack that relates to the story campaign, though no details about it were provided in the press release.

Arkham Origins will be out for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U, and PC on October 25.

OK, I loved the first two modern Batman games... Why is it that the more I learn about the new one the less I actually want it? Season pass, multiplayer, not made by Rocksteady. I will still buy it and I hope it will turn out good, but still. I am actually getting some doubt if I should pick it up at launch now.

Lol nope. Season passes can fuck off. Chances are I'll be done with the game long before the DLC is released. I'll probably be busy playing something else to even care. Maybe I'll get the DLC on a Steam sale some day for $5.

And don't you just hate how they try to sell you the idea that the content is worth more than it actually is? It's virtual stuff. If they think it's worth $15 now, it won't be worth $30 more later. Not to me anyway. That's not how the world works. They're not selling this content for less than it's worth. They're selling it for more than it's worth later on.

that season pass sounds like crap

a bunch of costumes a training level (challenge map) and some undefined story DLC, yeah unless there's a Cassandra Cain or Dick Grayson DLC I'll be passing on DLC for this game, never cared for DLC in the first two outside of Nightwing in City

and come on Brightest Day Day Batman is a white lantern! Does gameplay change to incorporate these new powers or is it the same in a white costume?

ehh, nothing i've seen about this really seems to get my interest. i loved the first one, thought the second was pretty good, but i don't really care about this one. i might pick it up in the future on sale or something, but i never could be bothered with the dlc for city so i won't be getting a season pass for this at all

I hope that this nickle & dime approach to the consumers is going to eventually backfire. Content up front please, and anything additional should be wrapped into either a "complete" sequel or released as a proper expansion pack. Four and five dollar costumes and lame challenge-maps (that I won't bother playing) do not constitute a worthwhile investment from me.

GOTYE on a Steam Sale it is.
My god... his name's been an acronym all along! We've cracked the code! We've cracked the code!

But yeah, I always enjoy new skins, but I think I'll wait until they're all bundled into a single pack, thanks. If the new DLC maps are actually story-heavy I might be willing to spring for this, but I doubt they'll have much of a narrative considering the precedent that City set.

Game of the year edition on PS4 it is. Be it digital download or available @ retail.

"Pay extra for stuff that we developed for the full-priced game and kept out of release!"

Why should I care about big companies and piracy again?

So a bunch of extra outfits and some challenge maps, isn't this the kind of thing games used to just come with?

When I see things like "Season pass" and "We are going to have 5 DLC packs". It usually means to me, I am not going to buy this game for a long time.

*sigh* Do you... do you guys remember the good ol' days? Where extra costumes were neat Easter eggs you could unlock in game?

I'm so sick of this shit by Devs. The only way I own DLC today is if it's offered with a discounted copy of the game as a bundle on Steam. That is it. I'll never pay for this one piece at a time, and I sure as hell won't be caught dead with a season pass. YOU'LL NEVER TAKE ME ALIVE! *foams at mouth*

I'm all fine for Season Passes, but this one sounds a bit...lacklaster? I mean, 2 batman skins, plus 2 big sets of skins, a Bruce Wayne centric amount of challenge maps (that for a second thought was going to be a sort of prologue mission before starting the game proper. Should learn to not read so fast, lol), and one story DLC? The Story DLC peaks my interest the most, but we won't find out what it is for awhile. I just don't really see all of that adding up to more than 20-30 bucks when a majority of it is skins. Why buy the Season Pass?

Still, at least they are going to do a Story DLC. Hope its interesting and a good amount of length, whatever it is.

Same... Season Passes always irk me... and, even then, most of the DLC this game will probably have would end up on the GOTYE...

Then again, the Collector's Edition is still temping me... But, unlike with Arkham City's Collector's Edition, I'm still skeptic about this game so I'll still be going with waiting til the GOTYE...

Then wait a couple of weeks, wait for a common consensus to appear regarding the game, then decide from there whether you want to buy it or not. A couple of weeks is not a long time, and if it turns out that the DLC negatively intrudes on the game, then you'll have saved yourself a wad of cash.
Good advice, but I rarely agree with the common consensus. I'll just wait for a Steam sale and work on my backlog I guess.
