Hello Escapist forum! Guess what time it is?! ANOTHER MILESTONE THREAD, yayyyyyyyyyy!!! *shoots confetti out of a cannon*

Yes... Today, I finally hit the quadruple digits in my forum posts, and it feels good! For this special occasion, I wanna know where you guys where around 3 years ago. I don't mean in RL, but here, on the Escapist. Where you as you are now? Were you a dick? If you haven't been here for that long, let's go right back to the beginning!

I apologize if this has been done before, buuuuuut, I don't care~ I wanna celebrate, and I'm gonna do it with my own piece!

3 years ago, I was actually just shaping myself up after starting here. I was a bit of an elitist little shit at the start, and it took 2 warnings for me to realize why. A little bit after that time, I started posting really heavily, responding to lots of posts, and over-all even making my own. I racked up my post count hard before slowing down within recent years. I get too lazy to post on every thread I see, but I do post when I want to. I even tried to make my own review section for more obscure stuff, and handheld games, in the User Reviews section. Needless to say, that went nowhere!

Anyways, that's about the most I've done here. I doubt I've set the world on fire, but, it's been fun for 1k! Now, if only I'd stop being lazy enough to do more... Maybe in another 3 years

Three years ago, I had been here for a few years and was starting to launch my catchphrase "One word: Batman.

Three years ago was 2012, yeah?

March specifically was Mass Effect 3, with Diablo III just on the horizon. So I imagine that was about when I was feeling really sick and tired of the state of the forums and wobbling back and forth between just leaving entirely.

I do sometimes wonder what would have changed had I not stuck around and discovered the user groups. Then I think that I probably would have ended up being far more productive and get sad.

Jesus... 3 years ago I was little more than a lurker. I had an account, but barely posted at all. I still think I was using one of the stock avatars as well. I also was a total idiot. Not much has changed clearly, just now I'm an idiot who post more!

In 2012, I think I was much less cynical about the site and less snarky than I am now.

That was around the time I started becoming active in the user groups and chatted to some of the people who keep me coming back here.

I used to visit the site compulsively, I'm not really like that anymore.

It kinda sucks.

I'm not pointing fingers or anything, it was going to happen eventually, but it does suck that I don't get the same enjoyment out of the place that I used to.

I was probably even blander as a poster than I am now.

I really don't remember much at all from my earlier days here. Don't commit such things to memory a whole lot.

Seeing how I just started posting here yesterday I would say I was beyond a lurker. I had barely visited the forums.

Three years ago I was doing my military service. Basically all of March was the Medic course, where we went to lectures and learned battlefield procedures in practice (no amputations or anything, just triage and that kind of stuff). What especially stayed with me was this power point presentation we had on war injuries that started out soft with a closeup of a man's skull that had literally been blown apart, and it only got better from there. Good stuff.

3 years ago? I think I was still lurking. I may have made a few posts here and there, and then got a response and fled back to lurking out of shyness. I don't really remember to be honest and I don't want to go through post history or I will cringe!

I can't imagine this site not being a part of my life now...

3 years ago I was tearing into Forum Games like a hurricane. These days I'm just a mild wind that can occasionally gust up when in the mood. I don't know if I have changed in much in the way I post in that time in a big way but I can say for certain I've done a lot of growing up in my personal life since then...

Congrats on the milestone though, it has been a long time since I last saw a post celebrating 4 digits.

Where was I in 2012? I was active, but like I am now, mostly in the MLP chat here, which is where most of my post-count comes from. Damn, I've been around for awhile, now. Not as long as some, but still.

3 years ago, I was only watching Zero Punctuation...
3 years ago, I didn't have an Escapist account...
3 years ago, I didn't even know The Escapist had a forum...

Uh... Escapist-wise , that's pretty much it... I was doing something MLP-related 3 years ago, but I digress since it wasn't Escapist-related in nature...

I hardly remember what I did yesterday, and you ask me to recall three years back? I have no idea, but I'm certain I was just as baller as I am today.

I think I was lurking the forums at the time. At the very least, I was following Jim and Yahtzee by then.

As for when I started posting, I think I was a little more careful with what I said. Outside of that, though, nothing has really changed.

I was a slightly more active version of myself. xD

I was also working on a Minecraftian tears meter for MM that I let lapse since. Maybe I should finish it.

Um...watching ZP, and maybe started with Jim as well. Maybe around the time Extra Credits and Lisa left was it? I remember watching LRR dropping things and watching them smash in slow motion as well. And holy shit I just realized where the "crowbar is ready" t-shirt phrase comes from! Daaayyuummmmn

Other than that, probably posting in the same dull manner as I do now, with the same frequency

Huh... three years ago... if I remember correctly, around this time three years ago, I stepped down as a moderator and started spending more time with the MechWarrior Online crowd, spending time in their IRC, etc, until I got picked up by a guy named Fros7bite and invited into a great community that was mainly MWO players (or planning to be, what with the closed beta at the time).

Also, off topic, lacktheknack's current avatar gives me the creeps.

Reading through the Escapist forums and thinking about Skyrim, mostly. I seem to remember that game taking up the majority of my time back then.
