See I legitimately can not say that I think any combination would be doomed to fail, because I laughed VERY hard when Kingdom Hearts was first announced... so what do I know.

Honestly, I think it would be combining things that are TOO similar that would produce bad games just because they'd bring nothing new. Gears of War + Halo. Clock Tower + Silent Hill. Mario + Super Meat Boy.
Actually those all sound pretty good, too...
