Here's an idea: go back in time before you bought an xbox, and buy the one next to the one you bought. Then go back to the present and it should work just fine...

This guy's advice is sound.
Both parts of it.
Also, make sure all cables are plugged in. Sounds stupid but it may be the case.

Best thing you could do is call for support or go on the Xbox support website. Or you know you could totally like start yelling at it really really loudly and hope it starts to work again out of pure shame, call it a fat ass and say its momma is a 3DO.

Yeah, it's an overheating problem. They make some third party cooling fans but they mostly suck. Try ventilating the area that it's sitting in. Don't put it in an enclosed unit or anything like that.
