I would say Super Meat Boy, but Sony inexplicably decided that it wasn't worth their time.
I've heard that Joe Danger is pretty good, but I don't have a PS3, so I don't have much of a frame of reference.

Games I bought from PSN:
- Castle Crashers: sidescrolling beat 'em up, unholy levels of fun, especially when playing with 3 friends. 13 Euros.
- Shank: sidescrolling shooter/beat 'em up, a nice diversion but gets a bit repetative. I prefer Castle Crashers. 13 Euros.
- WipeOut HD: awesome futuristic racing game, wholeheartedly recommended. Can't remember the price though.
Yeah it's all in euros but I doubt the prices will be that much different in dollars, at least not above 20.

Blacklight: Tango Down is also really good from what I've seen and its a full stand alone FPS with complete multiplayer for around $15 if I'm remembering right.

Other games I liked are MegaMan9 and Street Fighter 2 HD REMIX. Though the online is dead, it's fun to play with friends. Also, DLC is always nice for the games you have.
I just bought Deathspank, Deathspank: Thongs of Virtue & Joe Danger for £20 (I had a voucher). Deathspank is good, and has Monkey Island humour, which is always great, and Joe Danger is just all round fun.
