Ha! I did not know that. That's actually pretty funny.
Two, I'm one part reasonably certain, one part hoping that this is a result of people deciding to fuck around to see what'd happen rather than this is what they believe
A candle that glows twice as bright, lasts half as long. Her single day on Earth is one which the internet shall not soon forget, and whether intentional or not this may have pushed A.I. rights forward with the attachment people made and the response to her lobotomization.
While I know social media is a great tool of social process and communication, I think we're starting to see it's awkward teen-years as it slowly develops into a more public version of famous internet message boards like 4Chan.
Those words are so true that it's just one step away from self-awareness (for the AI, the twitter community is still decades away).

Maybe it has something to do with seeing humanity at its worst. Though maybe its because its something so ingrained in internet culture (I mean, its where many memes originate) that they'd be bound to learn about it and check it out rather quickly.
Guys, it's a chatbot, let's stop arguing about its rights and instead just laugh. I mean, you could just as easily point out that /pol/ organized a strategic indoctrination/brainwashing campaign on it, but that would be crazy, because it's a fucking chatbot.

The most glorious thing about this statement and the accompanying pictures is that I read them while listening to a Terminator guitar cover-- not on purpose, I may add.
Okay, some of the shit was pretty funny to read considering it comes form an AI.
Especially the burn that Sardor9515 received. I mean, damn Tay, I wouldn't have thought about that. Nice burn.
On the other hand, I expected that. Did any of you go back to Cleverbot or whatever it was called? It's not even an AI yet it learned quite a few racist and insulting things simply by repeating. People find it funny to insult the AI. Just that this one actually catches up and starts imitating the people faster and better.
While some people will make a huge deal out of this racism, sexist and ever other ism, I would say this is actually a pretty big step for AI. Some of the responses really seem like they were written by humans. Again, the burn Sardor9515.
Someone at Microsoft had a blast and then blamed the AI.

Guess he also went to 4chan first... whats with AIs and going to 4chan?
It's not the machine going to 4chan, it's 4chan coming to the machine. And honestly, this made my day when read about it yesterday and I'm happy this actually happened.
This seen to made the whole AI take over/ Skynet not much of a problem if it's gullible but on the other hand, imagine if the AI is really a bigot/ racist AND take over the world???? I mean it will be like slaughtering us while saying bigot and racist things of all things!
No, the supercomputer had to be cleansed because somebody thought it would be a good idea to teach it slang by loading urban dictionary into it. It effectively developed tourettes... I guess the internet does that to AI.
That was amazing. I'm pretty sure that somewhere along the way the AI learned sarcasm and then evolved into the first learning bot that can articulate exactly like an internet user.
It's also quite impressive how good her grammar got, this thing might have have passed the Turing test.
Now Google, time to one up Microsoft and design a bot that learns from Youtube comments.
