I don't know about an HD upgrade (well...maybe, I love the sprites though), but an official re-release for the anniversary would be lovely.Tanis said:...and 20 years later, it's STILL one of the BEST JRPGs of all time.

Anyone feel like THIS is a game that is long overdue for a HD upgrade?
I mean, like the graphics upgraded to something like 'Child of Light' or even Ni No Kuni levels.WeepingAngels said:What do you mean by HD upgrade because I wonder what resolution the iOS and Android remakes run at.
After what they did to the iOS/Android version...no, just no. I'll stick to my JP copy or my NA GBA copy. The Rogue Wolf said:I'm really wary of the idea of current-day Squeenix trying to "remaster" FFVI. I'd love to see it reintroduced to younger gamers who might otherwise be turned off by 16-bit graphics, but I can't trust the company to not utterly botch it up.
Also... 20 years ago? Jeez, I remember picking it up at the store on release day and practically racing home with it in my hands.

Seconded. Look, there are some problems with the translations of the game here in the west, and the best translation -GBA- has low-quality sound, so nothing is perfect. But, the game is great enough as-is on any platform, and I would not change a pixel if it meant letting the current Square touch the thing. The Rogue Wolf said:I'm really wary of the idea of current-day Squeenix trying to "remaster" FFVI. What did they do to it because it looks and plays fine to me?BoredRolePlayer said:After what they did to the iOS/Android version...no, just no. The sprite work feels like it really doesn't match the color towns of a lot of towns to me. Bright and colorful characters up against dark backdrops feels like someone was learning how to use a green screen.WeepingAngels said:What did they do to it because it looks and plays fine to me?BoredRolePlayer said:After what they did to the iOS/Android version...no, just no. As sacrilegious as it is to say this, I really don't care for Amano's art style.Tanis said:I mean, like the graphics upgraded to something like 'Child of Light' or even Ni No Kuni levels.WeepingAngels said:What do you mean by HD upgrade because I wonder what resolution the iOS and Android remakes run at.
Hell, I'd give my left nut/ovary for FF6 to be redone in Amano's art style.

Oh yeah, when I saw this thread I knew I had to post that moment:Atmos Duality said:-The single most awesome act of manliness on record: Sabin Suplexes a train. A speeding train. THE speeding train of the damned. There is not enough 'METAL \n/p' in the world to describe that.
