20 years from now we'll be in the year 2032..

20 yeas from now humanity will still be here in one way or another

20 years the phrase 'in 20 years' will be a joke meme against doom-sayers and trolls

20 years from now we may have even conquered the problems of today.. just a thought

20 years from now even with the earth a void and barren landscape and ruled by zombies, humanity will still exist in "New Eden" - A project started in 2026 to rebuild the Earth in Minecraft and to sync the human brain to the game. Since 2030 the only intelligent race in the Milky Way is the Homosteveticus and they mine all day long - or commit genocide against the competitor, the underground and twisted race of the Homotrollicus - may they forever burn in their lava floods..

20 years from now I'll be running for President. I hope that I will be higher up in the polls then my challengers.

Also, in 20 Years, Illegal Immigration will have died down to the point that no one cares about an American-Mexican Wall anymore.

20 years from now something big will happen
20 years from now Hitler will rise again
20 years form now a meteor will kill us all
20 years from now the planet will just explode into a million pieces
20 years from now someone somewhere will kill someone else
20 years from now Israel will fight a war against the entire Middle East
20 years from now China will take over the world
20 years from now angsty-teens will continue to make grossly overestimated predictions about the future because only they can truly understand just how fucked we all are.

Seriously mate cheer up, the world isn't due for destruction until Old Flamey goes super nova in a few billion years.

Are you implying Half-Life 3 is released within ten years?

20 years from now Japanese intelligent toilets will be subtly altering the dietry habits of the east to better promote fecal measurments and standards. This will cause the Japanesse fishing indusrty to crash. The insuing crash will allow the desimated whale population to recover, even thrive and eventually advance to such a point where their numbers are great enough to take the fight to land.

Hawai will be the first to fall, followed by New Zealand and finally Australia. It is here that the whales will the discover the true source of Australia's strange power: a black monolith who's radiation is responcible for all evolution on earth.

The find will cause the whale empire to fragment into an ideological civil war between The Whale Defense Inititive and the Brotherhood of POD. Human resistance will take advantage of the conflict and under the influence of the prophet David Ike, scuba diving suicide bombers will begin a campaign of destruction against the barrier reef.

Unable to maintain a war on two fronts, POD seperatists will decide to destroy the australian monolith to prevent it falling into the wrong hands. The attempt causes massive gloabal destruction and the almost total extinction of all life on earth. Yet whatever strange alien logic it is that drives the monolith, one whale is spared the destruction and brought into being high above the surface of an alien world. Along with a bowl of pertunias, the Star-Whale lives a short, but exciting life for the duration of its decent to terra firma.

I DO care about knowing that high-pitched 10 year old gamers who shout down the microphone will be productive members of society by then.
That thought irritates me.

20 years from now we will be attacked by Darkseid.

OP: I agree that there are too many people and we need to do something about that but the rest of it won't happen.

Ha, I think Captcha has become self aware, it said 'Get over it'.

Also there is the 'Future of humanity institute' that predicts the chance of stuff like that happening and I think last time I looked their most likely end of the world cause was nanotech going wrong.

Yep they have got 'Nanotech accident' and 'Killed by a super intelligent AI' tied for 1st place at 5% chance of causing human extinction by 2100.

Overpopulation is not an issue. Read about the green revolution, and how that vastly increased the amount of people Earth could sustain. GM crops are going to allow us to do similar things with a predicted 9 billion.

20 years from now, it will be possible to sequence your entire genome for under $100, and within a day or two. Computing power will have continued to increase exponentially and its price drop, meaning computers are absolutely ubiquitous everywhere - drones in particular are going to become a big thing for governments/research. 3D printing will also be more common-place, but still a fringe activity, and mind-to-computer interfaces will be approaching the point where they're available for mass-market use.

Also, Half Life 3 might be released by then.
Was going to say something like this, but Esotera beat me to it.

So yeah. I second all of this.

5 years from now, the European single currency will be no more. 10 years from now, the role of the EU politically will be greatly diminished. 20 years from now, we will either have been through or be on the brink of the Third World War.

Just guessing here, extrapolating from current trends and political situations. Worth thinking about, I reckon :p.

In 20 years time all the polar bear's ghosts will rise up for revenge.
In 20 years time Tadley will flood, but the inhabitants will be ok because they have webbed fingers anyway. (Swap Tadley in with 'the South' if you're American.)
In 20 years time someone will conclusively prove evolution. Religious people still won't get it.

Am I doing it right?

In 20 years time, things will be a bit nicer
In 20 years time, we'll have a heap of new problems, but they'll not be as bad as the current ones
In 20 years time, zeppelins will make a comeback - once people realise how damned cool they are
In 20 years time, there will either be a recession or we'll be experiencing a boom. Either way, it will end.

Me too. Fortunately for guys like us, when Mecha-Hitler arises to form the 4th Reich, he'll be promptly destroyed due to our experience playing Wolfenstein 3D. We'll be heralded as heroes of the world, and showered with money and women.
well fuck. Jack the Ripper will have to do.

20 years from now a pioneering scientist will discover how to clone dinosaurs and create a theme park using real dinosaurs, unfortunatly this park will have a power loss and a mass escape resulting in death for all visitors. This island however will become a game reserve where people can go on high risk hunting holidays.

Or if change theorists are to be believed we will all be underwater, or on the side of a mountain.

can i just say with every breath we use like 10% of the oxygen in the air, not 20%, well if my memory is right
Almost! We only use 5%. We're not efficient at all with breathing, and we only use 5% of the ~20% oxygen in air that we breathe in. So we use about 25% of the oxygen we actually intake per day.

The more you know.

OT: 20 years from now, something might happen.
