New Ninja Gaiden Games A Possibility?

With the departure of Tomonobu Itagaki from Tecmo, the doors are now open for the company to continue the much-loved franchise.

Tomonobu Itagaki liked to talk - which is a nice way to say that he was a one-man hyperbolic publicity machine - and one of the many things he said was that Ninja Gaiden 2 was the last game in the series. But Mr. Itagaki no longer works for Tecmo, and his successor, Yosuke Hayashi, has other ideas on the franchise's future.

Speaking in an interview with Kikizo [http://games.kikizo.com/features/interview-new-team-ninja-head-yosuke-hayashi-p1.asp], Hayashi had this to say about the possibility of a Ninja Gaiden 3: "Regardless of what Itagaki-san said before, in time, what the consumers, the gamers are looking for is going to be the next chapter - the future of an outstanding series. We feel that we're in a position of being able to make that call, and to provide pure entertainment that's going to be enjoyed by action gamers and our fans. That calling is already there - we feel it, and therefore we will continue to work towards a future for the series."

Kikizo also asked if it would be 'quieter' at Team Ninja following Mr. Itagaki's departure, and Hayashi replied "Well Itagaki liked to talk a lot! Me, I hope I don't have to talk so much. I believe my games will speak for themselves."

Itagaki, had a lot of hot air, some of it valid and some of it just hot air.

There's a long story behind his departure from Tecmo, now Tecmo/Koei as the two companies merged in January.

From what I've gathered his comments on Ninja Gaiden/DOA franchises being over he said when he knew he was leaving Tecmo. I think a gag order was put on him by Tecmo because of it, they didn't want him speaking for the company since he was no longer going to be a part of it.

As Yosuke Hayashi stated, the customers are going to determine if the series continue or not, not an ex-employee.

Yes, because it takes an extraordinary amount of talent to objectify women.
Last time I checked, there was more to DoA and Ninja Gaiden then that.

Dead Or Alive Extreme doesn't count.

DoA was the first game with jiggle physics.

I think that was the sound of your argument getting shot in the kidneys.

I'm all for another Ninja Gaiden game if they make it fun to play instead of balls on hard for the sake of it. Course I havn't played it yet because the chick with watermelon sized breasts scares me. I'm afraid she'll pop and silicone will spray everywhere.

So you haven't played it, and yet you talk about it. Go and play it, then come back and talk when you know what you're talking about. This way you don't have to look like a Yahtzee-Sheep.

This has... what to do with you being wrong?

If it makes you happy, i'll pick up a copy now that it's on the cheap. Considering it's universally considered to be balls on hardcore difficult for the sake of it though, I don't think i'm a Yahtzee Sheep.

Especially since I don't think Yahtzee had anything bad to say about the game except it's difficulty.

He said it was way too obsessed with tits and gore, had no real substance, and was rife with bugs and glitches.
Didn't even remember. But, seriously....

...Do I even need to say anything else? I'd say this proves at least that team ninja is all about the saix.

If you haven't played the game, you have no right what so ever to say if it is good or not. I won't say that it wasn't as close to in-game porn we're going to get. But if that was all you saw, then it says more about you then it does about the game.

Yes. Yes I do. Since this is going to be one of THOSE arguements though i'm just going to walk away, shaking my head while sad music plays.

Saying that a game is bad before you play it is like saying that a meal at a Steak House taste like shit before you even taste it.

Keep that in mind you sadly narrow-minded person.

Because I was really going to miss huge, unrealistically large tits, demons, blood and ninjas. Seriously, on paper it sounds like a winning formula, only surpassed by edgy but vividly descriptive one-liners, lots of guns, aliens, strippers, and a bad-ass attitude. *cough*

The guy is not David Jaffe.
That about sums it up. He's not even Peter Molyneux.

So I'm guessing we can expect a new vapid, bondage-gear clad, breasts the size of weather balloons sub-character that makes Ivy look like the Flying Nun.

They'll probably try to outdo the new God of War in the paint your wagons red (with blood) stakes if the other two are anything to go by.
