I'm loving the new wide format, thanks for listening to us :)

As to the Xbox Live increase, I don't have a 360 myself at the moment, but I don't see a problem with a relatively small price rise after a few years.

Microsoft is betting that in this hellscape of an economy, consumers will make pricing a secondary concern. This is not a bet that I would take.
Me neither, pricing is only ever secondary to "CANIHAVEIT? CANIHAVEIT? CANIHAVEIT? CANIHAVEIT? CANIHAVEIT? CANIHAVEIT? CANIHAVEIT? CANIHAVEIT? CANIHAVEIT? "

What's that in the kid's hands?

Anyway, I agree, Microsoft going for the premium angle doesn't seem like the smartest choice. I thought sony had that angle covered anyway, with it's blue ray and all that?

The new wide format works really well indeed, it saves me having to scroll back up to read the extra text after I've finished the comic.
Despite having a 360, I've never gotten round to getting Live. And now that I'm about to become a full-time student, I imagine that I never shall. Huzzah.

I could be wrong, but I don't think Microsoft are raising the fee in Australia and New Zealand. I think I read that somewhere... or maybe I'm making it up. Either way it's good news.

I do like the new Widescreen comments. Tis good!

As for price hike...people need to stop getting there knickers in a twist, so to speak - Its hardly going to dent your budget...

Ah finally the new SP! I may be the only one but I don't like the new wider comic, panels just seem so empty. Maybe if you have some idea that asked for such format, but otherwise I preferred the old look. On the bright side - people seem to me reading your comments more when it's positioned as a continuation of the comic.

Shamus I completely agree with you, it's the reason Move and Kinetic looks like a complete failure from the get go to me, even from the "getting the old ladies and 3 year old market" standpoint. I'm not going to pay for this shit, no one with a Wii is going to pay for this shit, why the hell would old dears with barely enough money to split a biscuit between them pay for both and Xbox and Kinetic, or a PS3 and Move when they can get a Wii for less than the biscuit.

To be honest I don't think the hike will damage sales enough for it to matter. Those with a Live account will just pay up, those who never had one won't have the feeling of"Why am I now paying more for the same thing?" and so although they may lose a few people, the extra $10 from everyone else will give them a nice profit.

The bastards.

Since you asked, I liked the old non-widescreen format better. But no biggie.

Well they certainly won't get an extra 10 a year from me.

I'm in the UK, no yearly price hike for me! :p

Tried that with my dad once. He smacked me in the head and told me to shut up.

For what it's worth, I prefer the new format; previously you had to scroll down to read the comic, scroll up to read your comments, and then scroll back down to read the comments page. This way it's just one easy scroll. Saving my right pointer finger from moving slightly is always appreciated.

"No game could possibly be entertaining enough to make it worth my time to endure the company of those feral dipshits."

Well said.

Also on the format. It's easier to read the comic then comments in one smooth scroll. I would always get distracted and jump from comic half way to comments. Much smoother transition this way.

Nice! I put stupid things in their hands instead of game controllers (I actually have some available) just to see if people notice and can identify the odd things.
