I thought it would be fun to have a thread where we talk about games we are looking forward to in 2026, or what at least is on our radar this year.

February is quite packed for me to be honest. Between Nioh 3, Yakuza3, Dragonquest 7, Tales of Berseria Remaster, Re9, that month alone for being a short month is STACKED. And there are plenty other cool games in that month that I don't have an interest in but I know people will enjoy.

Crimson Desert has me curious in March because I thought it was an MMO for the longest time, but instead it's like...I dunno what the fuck. It'll be interesting or March will be my catch up month.

April has the Diablo 4 expansion because I'm a fucking shill and I can't stay away from Diablo. Goddamn it.

Then nothing until GTA 6 that we know about and everyone is gonna play that fucking thing.

Meh, got nothing. All the stuff I'm keeping an eye on, I have no idea whether it'll release in 2026. Some of them I don't even know if they'll release at all.

Oh shit its not MMO?! Black desert was a good game ruined by being an MMO (K MMO).

Otherwise, deus ex remaster (don't fuck it up)

OOOo dynasty warrior 3 is getting remaster, its the last one I really liked.

Pragmata... slightly curious

Mechanicus 2, hopefully better balanced

Ace combat 8, althought I assume it'll be delayed to 2027

I am so confused, I thought it was, but I guess it's not. It's some sort of open world rpg action game thing....i dunno.

Honestly the only thing I really have my eye on this year is Resident Evil 9, but maybe something'll jump out at me. That tends to happen most years.

Whatever, just wash your hands.
At the moment the main 2026 games I'm looking forward too are.

Monster Hunter Stories 3. I loved 2 so I have high hopes.

Pragmata. Really liked the demo.

R-Type Tactics 1 and 2. Hypothetically this will be out this year, but I have heard that before so this is more tentative.

Dawn of War 4. Its Dawn of War, I gotta play it and it sounds like its gonna have some nice deep single player campaigns for each faction.

Persona 4 Revival. Another tentative one since no release date is set, but probably this year and I really want to see what they add to it.

Ace Combat 8. Sounds like its got a 2026 release date and I do love me some arcade air combat so looking forward to it.

I made the mistake of looking through my wishlist and I have more to list.

40k Mechanicus 2. The first game had some issues, but the demo for 2 made me kinda excited for it so yeah, yay.

40k Boltgun 2. I was kinda lukewarm on Boltgun, I beat it once and just didn't feel the need to play it more, but 2 is being published by DevolverDigital and I like the option to also play as a Sister of Battle with different gear so hesitantly excited for it.

Forza Horizon 6. I really really liked Forza 5 and in 6 it sounds like your driving around Japan which just sounds cool. Hope the music tracks are better or we can use our own MP3s or something.

At Fates End. Action game made by the people who made Spirit Farer, nuff said.

Next games are more... probably coming out in 2026.

Clever Girls. Turn based strategy with character building and fun characters who are all dinosaurs. The demo is pretty great so really looking forward to it.

Glitter Justice. FPS game made by the person who made Herald of Havok. Meaning its going to feel just sooo good to play and it looks cool.

Visegunne. Really cool looking shmup.

The Scramble Vice. Makes me think of Cybernator for the SNES.

Code Vein 2 and Monster Hunter Stories 3 are coming out on top of eachother and I'm massively hype for both. CV2 was kinda announced out of nowhere after a 6 or so year radio silence from that IP and while I wished for more I was kinda afraid that the IP was dead so that's my most hyped up thing after kai no kiseki (trails beyond the horizon) which releases in a couple of days and wraps up the latest trails arc.

Then later this year we have the Avatar and Marvel fighting games, both of those look hype but Avatar especially feels like a callback to older airdasher anime games so that has my attention fully.

Also the spiritual successor to the Wild Arms franchise, Armed Fantasia, which I was in the kickstarter of should be coming out sometime this year if things go smoothly so that's another thing I'm looking forward to, but we don't have a set release date for that one yet.

I'd be more hype for the dq7 re-remake if I hadn't just played the 3ds remake of it like 2 years ago and if the art style looked better. I really hate what they did to the ps5 version. The chars all look terrible and it has this weird realistic look to it instead of being cell shaded like DQVIII and onwards. It just looks terrible. If I feel like revisiting it I'll just stick to the 3DS version.

He's especially ugly but it's more the way the whole game looks. It looks like a weird claymation thing, it hits the uncanny valley bullseye for me by being too photorealistic. It's not enough like the original Toriyama designs.

This just looks so much better and was made 20 years ago.

Ummmmm... My backlog:)

Honestly, Romeo is a Deadman looks interesting, I need to know more about that though. Other than that, I'm sure something will get my attention at some point. If its out this year, Persona 4 Remake maybe, but I really didn't like a couple of characters in the original, so that is a maybe. Or a wait until a price drop at least.
