BioShock Infinite Contest Promises to Immortalize Your Name

Irrational Games wants to name one of BioShock Infinite's emporiums after you.

There are only so many names to go around, and Irrational Games needs yours to help with the development of BioShock Infinite [http://www.amazon.com/BioShock-Infinite-Mac/dp/B002I0KOSI/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1302409927&sr=8-3]. A new contest will reward entrants with a permanent part in the game's world.

Irrational's aptly named "Get Your Name in the Game" promotion reveals that certain establishments in BioShock [http://www.amazon.com/BioShock-pc/dp/B000MK694E/ref=sr_1_5?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1302410403&sr=1-5], such as Sinclair Spirits and Robertson's Tobaccoria, were named after studio staff. Now, the company wants to do the same, but with fans.

Anyone that wants to submit their names should go here [http://irrationalgames.com/insider/name-in-the-game/] and do so by April 13 at 11:59pm Eastern Time. Irrational says that accepted names will be used for "a building, a character, a business-whatever our artists come up with."

Whoever gets to be a surly bartender is one lucky fan. That, and perhaps a crazy, glowing-eyed politician or the owner of a fiery grocery, as seen in BioShock Infinite's gameplay trailer [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/trailers/2028-BioShock-Infinite-Gameplay]. Just remember that Columbia needs button-makers too.

This is the part where not having an english name really comes against you..

I won't join the contest because my asian last name doesn't really fit the theme, and my first name is used to much as it is.

You could try entering it phonetically, it might look weird but then something a little unique might catch their notice.

Working late, Escapist?

I wonder if Columbia has any immigrants in it. I've got a list here of friends with awesome names.
